Dungeons Completed (3/9)
We will be starting with Heroic Blackrock Caverns. I will be going off that all of you, or at least those of you attempting this achievement already know the fights, if not, I will update later with guides for boss encounters.
I will make guides on all 9 Heroics, and post each boss, with each achievement after it, also will be the difficulty of the Achievement, Easy, Moderate, Hard, Very Hard.
I will be editing once I have everything down, to make the guide look pretty, have patience while I update the guide with all achievements.
For these I don't use DBM, and have no timers, so they are very doable.
Group comp for me (should not matter).
-Bear Druid
-Cat Druid (me)
-Fire/Frost Mage (DPS/CC)
-Holy Paladin
-Ele Shaman
Sometimes the healer will switch out for a holy priest, or I will go Bear and we will bring a Shadow Priest or Destruction Warlock. We are all in 334-338 ilvl gear. Difficulty is based off this, it may be harder or easier for you.
Blackrock Caverns
Rom'ogg Bonecrusher
Crushing Bones and Cracking Skulls
Defeat Rom'ogg Bonecrusher after using his Skullcracker ability to kill 10 Angered Earth elementals in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.
Easy
For this, you just burn the boss as normal, when he quakes, he will summon five adds. Do not AoE these adds, your tank may if he wishes in order to hold threat. After the second time he does this Quake you will have all 10 adds you need to get the achievement. The adds do not have to be a specific health, the Skullcracker will kill them anyways. After you have 10 adds, in a short period you will all get Chains of Woe. It is very important you deal with that, then run out as usual. Your tank needs to stay in, and run out at the last second, it shouldn't kill him, and if he times his run correctly, won't get hit at all. Now just burn the boss, and get your Achievement, you are now on your way to your Volcanic Drake.
Corla, Herald of Twilight
Arrested Development
Allow all three of Corla's zealots to evolve, then defeat Corla after slaying the evolved zealots in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.
Moderate
For this one, you will only want to tank two beams initially, burn the boss as usual, then when the first add spawns get it to about 90% health, and blow a Bloodlust/Heroism/Timewarp. Everyone needs to focus the morphed adds, get them down as soon as possible. Make sure you interrupt the fear she casts, Dark Command, as this will add to the difficulty if someone is feared. *When the first add gets to about 75%, and if both beams are being absorbed by party members, then release one beam and burn. If someone is not tanking it, get the first add to 50%, then off the beam, and burn.* Repeat starred step for third and final add. After they are all dead your healer will most likely be out of mana, but that does not matter much, as there is not a lot to deal with.
Karsh Steelbender
Too Hot to Handle
Defeat Karsh Steelbender after he has reached 15 stacks of Superheated Quicksilver Armor in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.
Moderate
This is pretty much a tank and spank, very dependent on how well your tank can move the boss. What you want to do is have your tank get the first 3 stacks as normal, then move out of fire, each time you want him to go back in aiming to get 1 stack (you will almost always get 2, sometimes rarely, you will get 1, if your tank is bad, 3-5). If you do it right you will want to go in for five re-entries, on that fifth one, you will want to blow Bloodlust/Heroism/Timewarp and use and cooldowns you might have. Your tank will want to push it in one last time, when he does you have met the requirement for the achieve, and can go kill it as normal, BUT, you now have two options of doing that.
1. Continue keeping stacks up burning faster, more AoE damage, no adds (adds only spawn on stack reset). More damage on boss.
2. Drop stacks, spawn adds, and continue with 3 stacks the rest of the fight. Your tank will need to pick up the adds and take more single target damage, less damage on boss.
I recommend number two.
Ascendant Lord Obsidius
Ascending Descending
Defeat Ascendant Lord Obsidius without any party member reaching 4 stacks of Crepuscular Veil in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.
Moderate
Two ways to do this one, all preference, one is not necessarily easier than another. Though I have not confirmed the second to work, if it is, it may be more useful, just require more attention from everyone rather than just one or two people. You will also be able to burn the boss quicker.
1. You can have one or two kiters
a. If you only have one it needs to be a PVP style class, such as a Frost Mage, you will then need to have the Mage kite all three adds, being sure not to be hit. Burn the boss with the two remaining DPS
b. If two kiters, do as step a, only the second kiter will fill in if the first is at two stacks, the second kiter will want to pull threat to keep the first from going to three or four stacks and failing the achievement.
2. Simply just CC the shadows of Obsidius, when he switches, he will break CC, and it will require you to CC the last one.
-Note: The switch causes any mark on the last target and the new target to be removed (raid mark, not debuff).
Throne of the Tides
Lady Naz'jar
Old Faithful
Get Lady Naz'jar to kill one of her minions with her Geyser ability in Throne of the Tides on Heroic difficulty.
Easy
Bring Lady Naz'jar down as normal, bring her to phase two (60%), as you do that she will summon three adds, kill the two casters, as they hurt quite a bit, CC the third, which is melee. Once the two casters are down, bring the melee add to 35%-40%, and keep him there, (at 30% he enrages). Now it is time to stack up to ensure a geyser kill, when one spawns, everyone needs to get out, the tank will have to keep the add there, and hold it over the geyser, if the tank is hit, the geyser should not kill him/her. Once all that is completed, now you just need to go for the kill.
Ozumat
Prince of Tides
Defeat an Unyielding Behemoth while you have the Tidal Surge effect during the Ozumat encounter in Throne of the Tides on Heroic difficulty.
Moderate
For this one, is based on time, kill all the adds as quick as possible, as time progress, void zones appear, eventually wiping the party. Shortly in, a large add will spawn, Unyielding Behemoth, only one will spawn the whole fight, so if you kill it, the achievement is over, and you will have to reset. Your tank needs to get threat, whether its attacking it a few seconds, or taunting it, I recommend taunting it, so the tank can focus down the other adds. On Phase 2, three adds will focus the boss, and you will need to burn these down quickly, use Heroism/Bloodlust/Timewarp, do not focus any other add. Once third is dead, you will go into phase 3, you will get your buff, and be able to take down the Behemoth with one Cooldown.
Stonecore
High Priestess
Rotten to the Core
Defeat 60 Disciples within 10 seconds during the High Priestess Azil encounter in the Stonecore on Heroic Difficulty.
Hard Rated it this way, as this fight is tough on normal, but trying to gather 60+ adds multiplies the trouble.
Again two ways of completing this, both involve you to do the encounter the normal way, just two diversions when you get into Phase 2, the add phase. On both, you will want to be max range when she uses her shield, if you avoid the damage of this, it will make this achievement significantly easier, though still not easy.
1. When she summons the adds, void zones should be on the ground, if they are not, use option 2. After a wave of adds spawn, (should only require one wave, I believe 3 packs of 25 come on the first wave, not completely sure though.) For this strategy, just keep everyone up, if adds are hurting people besides the tank, you will just simply have the tank pull threat, try to avoid damage to them. Once the void zones spawn, everyone will be sucked into it, adds included, but not the boss. This will significantly damage the adds, if it does not kill them, be sure to kill the adds with instant cast AoE abilities.
2. Second method is to as normally, get into phase 2, where you will then pick up as many adds as possible, once you think you have 60, get 10 more. Now it is time to simply AoE all of them down and get your achievement.
-Tip: Stacking in phase 2 greatly decreases difficulty of achievement
-Warning: You may not even need to kill the boss to get the achievement, similar to zombiefest, it may only require that you kill the 60 adds in 10 seconds.
Lost City of the Tol'vir
Lockmaw
Hard
Acrocalypse Now
Defeat 20 Frenzied Crocolisks within 10 seconds during the Lockmaw encounter in the Lost City of the Tol'vir on Heroic difficulty.
This achievement requires a lot for coordination, and although you do not need to kill the boss to earn the achievement, it is still highly healer intensive, due to many bleeds up at once.
For this achievement, have your tank pick up the boss and hold threat, make sure to face its head towards the party. The tail will sometimes do an AoE effect that causes a lot of damage, this is what we want to avoid. When Scent of Blood is cast on a target, that target must kite those adds, it is preferable and strongly suggested to have slows of some sort, (we used a hunter and a frost mage). As more of these add phases go on, you will take more damage. You will need in total, Scent of Blood to be cast five times. Once you have all of your crocalisks, you will want to bring them down to about 30%, and then blow all cooldowns and bring them all down as quick as possible. The 10 second timer is tough, but doable.
High Prophet Barim
Moderate
Kill it with fire
Defeat 3 Burning Souls during the High Prophet Barim encounter in Lost City of the Tol'vir on Heroic difficulty.
You can do this on as many visits as necessary, the counter will not reset.
For this one, you will want to start killing the boss as normal, its only when you get to 50%, is that you start going for the achievement. Try to get a lot of fire to spawn, a lot is not needed but it helps, some is required though. Now it is time for your tank to pick up the Dark Phoenix and tank it, its preferable to do it on the edge of a fire, but again, not required (the tanking is, not on the fire). Next, adds will spawn with the name of Soul Fragment, they will not have a lot of health, but will need to be burned down to 5-10%. Once you get one this low, have your tank pull the Dark Phoenix into a fire (the add follows the Phoenix and is not kitable). Once the Fragment enters the fire, it will attain a debuff called "Burning Soul". When that goes up, you want to take that add down as fast as possible, once you do that is one. Now you just need to repeat the process of killing adds and you will be done.
Siamat, Lord of the South Wind
Hard
Headed South
Defeat Siamat, Lord of the South Wind, with 3 stacks of Lightning Charge in Lost City of the Tol'vir on Heroic difficulty.
Two ways to do this, all depends on your gear, preference and group composition. For both, you will always start the same way, you will use all Cooldowns and Bloodlust/Heroism/Timewarp at the start, trying to get as much health off him as possible before he casts his shield. Try to use burst damage for this, not many dots, but hard hitting abilities. (If you have a long cast time, ask your tank to wait until about .5 seconds left on your cast to head in to pick up the boss). If your tank has a damage increase whether it be a warrior duel wielding, then equipping a shield later, or a bear druid, using cat form temporarily, any increase of damage then will greatly help the fight.
Now to decide, does your healer have a lot of gear, or your tank? If thats the case I would advise using the second strategy. If your DPS is geared, I would use the first strategy, if everyone is geared, either strategy is fine.
1. This way is to burn the boss as quick as you can, after you have used your intermediate cooldowns (the ones with 3 minute cooldowns). You can only start burning the boss after you have downed all three Servants, once all three are down, you will drop his shield. In order to drop them to efficiently overlap the buff, to ensure you have the 3 stacks required for the achievement, you will want to pick up the first and hold it until the second comes out. Then burn the first, and bring the second to 30-50% HP, as the third comes out burn the second, then burn the third. Now, he will start knocking you around the platform delaying the time you have to kill the boss. After the final one of these, pop all cooldowns and take him down as quick as possible (The buff acts as a bloodlust, but bloodlust/timewarp/heroism do not overlap it, so do not worry about using it on the pull.) After you down him, you should have 10 more points and another achievement out of the way towards your drake.
2. This second method is to tank the boss as normal, but have your dps burn down the shield to about 20-30%, with a good pull and getting some damage in before the shield goes up, this will be about 7m damage at most, you can change the percentage at your discretion, the mentioned percentages are absolute minimums of what you should blow the shield at, you can blow it at 50%. Then once you get it to the health that you are comfortable with, go ahead and single target each add down as fast as you can, then use all of your cooldowns.
