This is true if you take your current gear and calculate the values. But the values in the first post are calculated by using BiS T11 Gear ...
Nevertheless, i doubt you'r doing 21k SUSTAINED dps at 80 on a patchwork-like encounter (and considering a combat-time of 5min minimum)

Ya these numbers are farrrrrr off...My mains a rogue, all BiS, and pulls a steady 24k on heroic saurfang 25m at lvl 80...just look at WoL parses..no way we are going down in dps

and again as i have said before why should it what matter what class you chose? pick your class based on if its fun for you to play not if it does 10 dps more than another class

This doesn't make any sense. Marksman hunters are performing in the top three on the Elitist Jerks charts. Flawed data, IMO.

I really can't vouch for the data above, but you will most likely do around, or only slight above your current DPS come cata. People don't seem to realize how good their 264-277 gear is. Your crit and haste will pummel at 85, and boss resistances/armor are at a much higher level. This happens in every expansion. I did about 3k in SWP, and in Naxx I was doing around 3.5k, peaking around 4.3k in full tier7.

Having killed most of the bosses on the Beta I can confirm that these numbers are utter bull, we had 2 hunters doing over 20k dps for example, and none of the other numbers there are right either.
