Programs list.. yep, looks like you got everything.
For mac users. Final Cut Pro is your best friend. Final Cut = The Sony vegas / After Effects of Mac. As for recording, fraps is an alternative.. But WoW comes with a built-in official recorder. Quality is AMAZING too. Did a test here.

Great guide bro. Already knew all this, but it's nice to see a contribution like this. +Rep from me.

Ah yes I've actually been looking for this guide for a while now, some reason I couldn't find if when searching hehe.
My level 70 guild finally downed Kil'Jaeden on Tuesday night so I'm going to make a movie out of the boss kill video. Been searching and searching and searching for best rendering settings for Sony Vegas for a while now. Would it be worthwhile for me to wait for your more up-dated guide?
I wasn't going to go into depth with Sony Vegas as it's own but I can write up a separate guide for you that helps with rendering in Sony Vegas. Depending on your footage you will get 720p or 1080p HD videos for youtube!
Edit: The reason for lack of depth is because people using other software will be left out but I might research it and update the guide. Thanks for the idea!
