Introduction
Greetings.
After the success of my last thread - [Tailoring] Gold Guide - I've decided to create another for the profession, Blacksmithing.
Using the same tactics as the tailoring guide, I will show you how Blacksmithing can be an excellent money maker once you hit the 450 mark.
The Patterns
The ones I currently use are obtained from the Trial of the Crusader. They can also be bought from the Auction house but isn't advised if you can't afford it. You could acquire them through raiding or Guild Bank.
If you read the last guide, you'll notice that I don't craft any Icecrown Citadel patterns. This is due to the fact it costs 1 x Primordial Saronite per pattern = 23 x Emblem of Frost. On average, one of those is worth 1200 Gold + and many more are used in the construction of the item = NOT WORTH IT.
Investment, Skill, Profit
Prices for this guide have come from all the European Realms. Found by using the Website - WoWEcon
To master any of the above patterns you will need 450 Blacksmithing. Pretty obvious, but it needed to be said.
The 2 major materials that are required for these patterns are the:
Crusader Orb - Each one will cost : 124 Gold
Titansteel Bar - Each one, roughly worth : 130 Gold 72 Silver
The other materials that may be required for these patterns are:
Saronite Bar - Each one will cost : 1 Gold 80 Silver
Eternal Life - Each one, roughly worth : 21 Gold 71 Silver
Majestic Zircon = 149 Gold 82 Silvereach.
So, in order for you to create Sunforged Bracers, you will require:
4 x Crusader Orb = (4 x 124) = 496 Gold
12 x Eternal Life = (12 x 21.71) = 260 Gold 52 Silver
8 x Titansteel Bar = (8 x 130.72) = 1045 Gold 76 Silver
A grand total of = 1802 Gold 28 Silver, if items are purchased straight off the Auction House.
Reducing the cost of production
Expensive. Well, there are a few ways we can reduce the cost of such a fine piece of armour for maximum profit.
Already saving you 44 Gold 83 Silver per Titansteel Bar. But we can do better than that...
An Alchemist will have the ability to create Titanium Bars. A regeant for the Titansteel bars.
8 x Saronite Bars are required. This costs you 14 Gold 40 Silver.
Another Alchemist trick to greatly reduce the cost of the Majestic Zircon is to transmute it ever 20 hours.
1 x Eternal Air = 17 Gold
1x Sky Sapphire =
= 7 Gold 33 Silver
Total for one = 24 Gold 33 Silver - Though you'll have to wait 40 hours to create both.
Nifty trick. If your going for maximum profit then your probably going to want to wait for the cooldown to expire. Or you could purchase the second one from the Auction House. Up to you really.
Now to significantly reduce the price for all the patterns, not just two.
Final tallies
If you can't deal with maths, then maybe this isn't for you.
Using all the techniques described above, such as the use of Alchemy and Mining with Blacksmithing and the Crusader Orb technique, the prices for each pattern are as followed:
Breastplate of the White Knight:
8 x Eternal Life = (8 x 21.71) = 173 Gold 68 Silver
2 x Majestic Zircon = (2 x 24.33) = 48 Gold 66 Silver
12 x Titansteel Bar = (12 x 85.89) = 1030 Gold 68 Silver
8 x Crusader Orb** = (8 x 96) = 768 Gold
Total for one = 2021 Gold 2 Silver
** Crusader Orbs are purchased using the Frozen Orbs technique. This needs highlighting.
Sunforged Bracers:
12 x Eternal Life = (12 x 21.71) = 260 Gold 52 Silver
8 x Titansteel Bar = (8 x 85.89) = 687 Gold 12 Silver
4 x Crusader Orb** = (4 x 96) = 384 Gold
Total for one = 1331 Gold 64 Silver
Finally...
Saronite Swordbreakers:
20 x Saronite Bars = (20 x 1.80) = 36 Gold
8 x Titansteel Bar = (8 x 85.89) = 687 Gold 12 Silver
4 x Crusader Orb** = (4 x 96) = 384 Gold
Total for one = 1107 Gold 12 Silver
Conclusion
Please remember that all economies vary on different servers and that this may not be a source of income for you. If your not an alchemist or miner I advise you to find one. Maybe a friend or guildy.
Again I will try and keep this updated, but I do have a job. Not been able to take pictures this time around due to the fact I am being powerleveled.
I hope this has helped!
