[How to] Link any Item in a Macro

Donate to Remove Ads, Get ShoutBawx - Elite Forum Access
    - Open you macro window ( /m or /macro)

    - write your macro without the <Youritem> and place the Cursor where your item should be
    for example :
    Code:
    /2 Selling 5x <Youritem> /w me for Price
    - Press 'ESC' once so the macro window loses cursor focus

    - Open your Chat Window and Write
    Code:
    /script MacroFrameText:Insert("")
    - Put your Cursor between the two "" ( ALT + Left/Right)

    - Shift Click on the Item you want to add to the macro

    for exampe

    Code:
    /script MacroFrameText:Insert("[Eternal Fire]")
    - Run the Script by Pressing 'ENTER'

    - Your macro should now look like this, with the item colored
    Code:
WTS 5x [Eternal Fire] /w me for Price
    - Put the Macro on a hotkey an spam spam spam the Trade Chanel

    WARNING :

You can only link 3-4 Items in one Macro, so if you want to use more items, you will have to create a new macro, just test it out in /s or in a private Channel

Nice guide the only way I knew how to do this was go into your macro file and edit it but this is alot faster and easier. +rep.

Uhm, I just fail repped you.
You can link enchants (dunno about items) in the macro, and they will work.

You could also download the addon called 'Chatter' and it automatically lets you link items, quests, crafting skills, etc in general chat as well as any custom chat.

There it is... only chat addon you will ever need

you can link any item into the normal chatbox without any addons, but if you want to add items to a macro, you will have to use the method above

No, chatter won't do this for macros. ALSO, just so you know, other people can't see the items when you link them in general, they see some random shit text (It's probably the items code or something). Only you can see them.

I've always wondered how people do this.
I've played WoW for years and never knew how to do this. xD
    Thanks so much man.
