This will not always work. However, every week or two I get an extra 3-10k gold, its very nice.
EDIT: Found a post a few weeks ago by Mehappy. I have never read this until now when it got bumped, but it has the same general idea. However, my scam goes more in depth, using the whole idea of getting the original gold-buyer to take the item off the auction house. So combine the two, and sorry for the repost, appreciate what you get though
http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...gold-fast.html Thanks Mehappy, and any others who have posted this before. Just incorporated my scheme into yours to increase success rates dramatically!
Let's start off by making this whole process simpler. You need:
Auctioneer add-on (Curse.com - WoW Addons WAR Addons Gamer Blogs Forums >> WoW Add-ons >> Auctioneer [No brains required])
Open slots to create a new character
Character Map on Windows (Start > Programs ("All Programs") > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map)
-If you can't find it, push the Windows button in between Ctrl and Alt and hold it, then push r. Type in "charmap" with no quotes.
World of Warcraft (duh?)
==========================================================
The scam:
1.) Login a character that is conveniently positioned near the auction house. MAKE SURE YOU TURNED ON AUCTIONEER AND ALL OF ITS DEPENDENCIES!
2.) Find someone buying gold through the auction house. To do this, just click search with nothing in any of the fields. Click on the price field (Bid each or whatever) as shown below.
3.) Search through the pages for oddly priced items. Common examples are:
-Refreshing Spring Water
-Innkeeper food
-iLvl 1 stuff, or items with no deposit
4.) Once you find one, write down the sellers exact name. Add him/her to friends. [Wrinkles is my example]
5.) Create a new character with almost the same name. HOWEVER, use the character map and try to paste in a similar character. The easiest one to manipulate is the letter "i"
Lets pretend his name is Wrinkles. I am hiding the true buyers name because I don't want him to get banned, since there is a chance if he buys gold in the future I could get it.
My characters name is: Wrìnkles
Other Examples:
Anni > Anní
George > Georgé
Be creative. You may say, no one will fall for that, you can clearly see the difference between the TWO names. This is where I put a twist on the entire process.
By now if your not vigorously reading at an intensive intelligence starved heart pounding rate, you can leave. However for those devoted souls searching for vast manipulative strategies to steal income from those who are less deserving, read on!
The golden #6.)
a.) If the person is online, make a new character with a random name like:
Ahfdasjfdfs
Gforphelen
Igedotcom
Fadhfyhaga
These are just examples. Once again, apply your personal creativity.
Whisper them and tell them theres a problem with their order. Blizzard has suspended many of their farmers. Tell them to take the item off the auction house and repost in 2 days or 48h, which is when they will be able to farm again. Tell them its for their safety "to stop the ban of golds buying" <Use bad grammar
b.) If they are offline, send them an in-game mail saying the same thing!
DO NOT FORGET TO USE COMPLETELY SHITTY ENGLISH GRAMMAR TO MAKE
IT MORE AUTHENTIC.
They will take the item off. Post the same item on your similar named character. The chinese seller will assume it is him, hopefully. Good luck to all.
What you did:
You found someone purchasing gold through the auction house.
Then, you got them to remove their item to protect their account, wink wink
Now, you posted the same item up with a VERY similar name.
The gold seller hopefully will not question the accent since there is only one seller, and just assume you couldn't type it in properly.
