This doesn't seem to just affect starter editions, I think it just might be a bug in Blizzards system, I currently don't have any gametime yet I am fully able to play with no restrictions applied to me.

As i said, i had expired subscription too and could play but when i tried resub again (it failed cuz wrong card number) it locked my 20+ level chars.. So.. dont touch sub button to play for free and tell us how long it worked

I have a couple account with expired game time. don't touch the sub button, and try to log in on the locked characters marked inactive with No luck on any license I have

I resubscribed 2 weeks ago and got charged yesterday for it. Thats pretty late - I can usually see the charges from my bank account 2-3 days later.

Maybe that has something to do with it.
