the other sits there and gets wrecked?

working as intended... now this is a nice guide if you can get premades to agree to taking turns with the win/lose farm honor deal

People seem to call anything an exploit these days. Well, at least this one is something Blizzard frowns upon (trying to match up against another team by joining at the same time... it's BG win trading, like arena win trading) which is a step up from most of the crap people post in the exploit forum, like "omg you can use spellsteal to steal buffs from mobs!" I'm pretty sure if Blizzard found you to be BG win trading, they'd treat it just like arena win trading, so I guess it's sort of exploiting the system (playing the game in a way not intended to reap rewards faster than the normal method).
