[Bug(Maybe onetimeonly)USELESS] Friendly NE hunters pet as unfriendly

I was leveling my paladin alt in stv when i saw a friendly stealthed player.

It was a night elf hunter with his pet that did shadowmeld.
But when i did get about 15-20 yards away i did mouse over the pet and it was unfriendly but i didnt see the name so i thougt that it was a tiger so i did fell nice and wanted to save the guy from dying by killing the tiger.

When i did get about 10 yards away the tiger did turn friendly.
I wasnt able to attack him from far away even when he was unfriendly.


Additional (Useless?) information:
-The pets name was "?" (It was the name not that idk).
-The pet was a stv tiger
-The hunter was Shadowmelded

this has happened since near the beginning of wow.
This usually works when you get your pet and put it as stop.. then go hide somewhere quite far away.

This happens whenever the owner of an object or NPC(pets) is not viewable by your player but the object/pet is. Most commonly seen with shaman totems.

This happens when you load the pet before you see the warlock/hunter/mage.

Even if you tried attacking it, it would say "target is friendly".
