Offline Private Server

Alright, I'm trying to create some machinima, but WoWMapView is being...unhelpful.
I was pointed by a friend to the idea of using a private server to film, and the idea sounds good.

My question is, from a noobie standpoint, how to set up a OFFLINE (aka not connected to the internet at all) private server. Do I use MANGOS, ASCENT, what? All I need is one person (me) on it, so it doesn't need to be much. Having good support and instances/npcs would also be nice.

Again, I have no clue what I'm doing here, but I want to learn, and I have no problem with learning.

Also, no, I'm not going to join your private servers, spammers.

keep all your settings at 127.0.0.1 and others at default..but thats not technically being "offline" World of Warcraft is ran off the internet..so i'm not sure if its possible..

So, basicly, if I keep everything a localhost IP, I can play with it offline? The main thing is I just don't want to have to be online, because my internet is iffy.

With 127.0.0.1 it will be completly only for your computer. Also called as offline playing (You can play without internet).

And I would recomend ArcEmu, a branch of Ascent.

Yes, ArcEmu would be the best for a 1-Person Private Server. Though, how will you create a Machinima with 1 person I don't know. When you Compile ArcEmu, go into the CONF's and keep everything at 127.0.0.1, and then set your Realmlist.WTF to "Set realmlist 127.0.0.1" and ONLY you will be able to connect

Alright, thanks, downloading the stuff for ArcEmu now. As for how I'm making a machinima with 1 person, I'm compositing WoWModelView over the private server backgrounds. I already filmed/edited the characters, but WoWMapView was being worthless for making the backgrounds. (AKA not working at all.)

So your using WoWModelViewer to create other Characters? How do you do that? And what Program do you use to put the Characters onto the background? Sounds like a cool idea...

And what does WoWMapViewer do?

IMO if you want to be able to get on the game before a crash I'd use AspireDev until they actually take time to fix the crash reports >.>

Yah, the ArcEmu crashes get REALLY annoying <_< It's like every 5 minutes... Stupid ArcEmu. Hey Clain, do you have a link to the AspireDev Site or SVN?

Arc doesn't crash every 5 minutes.
And with 1 player online you won't experience any crashes.
