[WebPage] - Simple, yet Stylish (n00b guide)

Greetings, MMOwned.

Its been a while since i contributed here, and i thought it would be fun creating a Simple and Stylish Website. I will try to make as detailed guide as possible - so everyone understands it.

Lets go over the things you need to download first:

• You will need WAMPSERVER
• Then, my WebPage

I suppose you have both Navicat, and MySql if you are gonna create a webpage redarding WoW, or else - download them here.

Step 1 (Installing MySql)
Run the install setup once you have downloaded the file.
Set the password to: root









Ok, you are now done with the installation of MySql


Step 2 (Installing WAMP)

Nothing tricky with that installation, just follow the setup. (Big whoop?!)
Its just one tip - alot of ppl have trouble installing WAMP successfully for some reason - so the program does not work properly when running. SO, what you need to do is to close all your programs running on your computer and then try to reinstall it


Step 3 (Extracting the WebPage)

When you have downloaded the WebPage, it will be in a .rar format - so you basicly just need to extract it to wherever you want. Download winrar here, if you dont have it.


Step 4 (Connect The Website with WAMP)

Start the WAMP software up - you will then see a small icon in your right corner (like a half moon or something ).
LeftClick the icon, and then press WWW directory. Now place the files you extracted from the .rar inside the WWW directory.

LeftClick the icon again, and press both "put online" and "start all services".
Your WebSite is up and running now, if you did everything right - but, its only local so other ppl cant access it yet. ( I will not include how to get it public in this guide) And, if you dont have a WoW MySql database, its pretty much useless - cause that is where the webpage writes all his data.
(If you dont have a WoW Server - Ill strongly suggest this


Step 5 (Connecting to your WebPage)

When your WAMP server is running, you can access the webpage via your internett browser, just type in 127.0.0.1


Design, and fuctions on the website

Done it really simple, not so complicated.
But, it has some neat functions like:
- Account Creating (Of Course)
- Teleport (So, you can teleport your character from the webpage.)
- UnStucker!
- Character Transfer
- A neat map function
- And, password changer.

(At the picture, i have just filled in some randome info - just to show you how it looks - and that can easily be changed in the index files.)

THE IMAGES HERE FITS WITH WIDESCREEN, THERE WILL BE DOWNSCALED IMAGES IN THE .RAR FILE!

Its really easy to replace those images to what you want

Just replace the image "illidan" with another.

Up to each of you to decide what backround you want

This fits with widescreen.

Do you need router accses?

Hmm, it wont execute teh 'Apply Security' just before you finish installing MySQL?

I tried to reinstall it, not it wont go past 'Start Device' - also it asks me to type in my old password now ?

okey i got it now (full install) - still wont do 'Apply Security'? Sounds importand tho ;o

Okey i worked it out, MySQL server was the problem all the time, i dont need it to run the web it looks like? I do it fine without alteast

Ohh one question, how do i make it public (can i do it without router accses, etc. hamachi?) - and, how do i connect to my Database? Its doing error when i try to make an account via the web

Hello there - it depends if you have router or not.

Router
-You gotta forward port 80 (Check this site, if you dont know how to do that.)
- Then type in your IP in your internett browser.

No Router
- Simply type in your IP in your internett browser.


Also, you can use it just localy (127.0.0.1)
