    Svchost.exe <- Risky?

    hey all.....

I recently heard that svchost.exe was a keylogger that is undelete-able, after Pressing Ctrl, Alt + Delete and checking processes... I saw I had like 7 Svchost.exe's running......... Does that mean I have 7 keyloggers on my PC? And if so, how to delete them? Thanks all

(+rep to anyone who can help)

    Re: Svchost.exe <- Risky?

well, i really hope it isnt a keylogger, or else Microsoft is ripping every single Windows user off.....

here is a little info on it..

The Svchost.exe file is located in the C\Windows\System32 folder. At startup, Svchost.exe checks the services part of the registry to construct a list of services that it must load. Multiple instances of Svchost.exe can run at the same time. Each Svchost.exe session can contain a grouping of services. Therefore, separate services can run, depending on how and where Svchost.exe is started. This grouping of services permits better control and easier debugging.

if your REALLY worried about it, then you can check and see what processes are running in Svchost

    1. press start then click on run
    2. type cmd and press enter
    3. type Tasklist /SVC and press enter

then you get a list of all processes running.....

to answer your question, No, it is NOT a keylogger.
