I got a problem about sharing some docs on my LAN net or, i dont know how to do it.
Its a huge file so i cant upload it or anything.
Could anyone please tell how to share files over a LAN netverk ?
That means from one computer to another in my house

Well if your on windows you could probably just run windows network setup. Its pretty straight forward and it can be found in the control panel I think.

The LAN connection between the two computers. That's the network connection he is talking about.

Re: Help with LAN File sharing

Not 100% sure how it works on Vista, as I don't use it. If you're on XP, it's easy. Put the file in a folder somewhere (not just on desktop) -- right-click that folder, go to sharing and security.

Put the check in "Share this folder on the network" If it's the first time you've done it, you'll get a security warning, you can go through the process if you want, I just click "Just enable sharing"

You'll need to know the sharing computer's IP address. Easiest way to do so is -- Start -> Run -> Cmd -> ipconfig <enter>

Note this IP. Go to the other comp, go to -- Start -> Run -> and type 2 backslahes (\\) and then the ip address. IE.. \\192.168.0.3 or whatever it is. A browsing window should pop up with whatever you have shared on your computer. If it doesn't, a firewall may be preventing the traffic, try disabling them for the transfer.

Hope it helped =) If you have any questions, feel free to PM.
