Smitten's ANSI Art
ANSI art is something I used to do awhile ago, even though it was dead art form (well, compared to its heyday). I haven't done any in awhile since I moved onto other things, but apparently retro is cool again and I felt the itch once more, so I'll post some stuff here.
For those that don't know, ANSI art uses extended ASCII characters to make drawings. It is limited to 4 bit colour (16 colours) as per the VGA standard. I have always kept to the traditional 80 character line limit, but it isn't too uncommon to see 160 characters either. If you've ever looked at .nfo files if you've pirated something, you've probably seen it in some form or another.
Anyway, here's something I did yesterday for my 5th anniversary here on OwnedCore. It's a Murloc giving a thumbs up. Loaded up WoW Model Viewer so I could see a Murloc and went to town. Don't know why I decided on a Murloc though, but it turned out pretty well..
I used to use TheDraw, but the days of MS-DOS are well and truly gone, so I had to try something new. That turned out to be PabloDraw. This is the first thing I did upon installation - the old MMOwned Panda. It's kinda shithouse, but hey, not bad for messing around before going to bed one night.
Maybe I'll post some more in the future. Who knows.
