New to Photoshop, got some questions

Ok, if i have a picture, like this

Is there an easy way just to remove the flag or do i have to do in Manually, and after i did it, It was lighter, Is there a way to fix this? Or maybe i edited it wrong....

Any detailed tutorials feel free to post

They all seem slightly lighter, when i transfer, an image to a new file

yeah the only way i know how to do it is with the pen tool or the Polygon Lasso tool. As for them getting lighter we'll i'm confused, have u tried duplicating the layer and setting the top one to Linear burn 15%?

Easily done with the tools mentioned above. I like the magic wand tbh.

Did it for you, all I used was the quick selection and magic wand tool, if your sticking it onto a sig or something I suggest blending it, or bluring the edges of it, if you need a blending tutorial ill make one.

Use the pen tool, its the most effective extraction tool. However, it is the hardest to use.
