    Progress Quest - MMOwned guild!

Progress Quest is a state-of-the-art computer roleplaying game famed for its innovative and sophisticated mechanics.

Direct download, version 6.2 for Windows: Here.

As of 2010-06-13, the mighty MMOwned guild has been formed on the Spoltog realm.

Those who are not yet familiar with the free epic RPG that is Progress Quest should read on to learn about what they have missed in their gaming life so far...

    The setting

The first thing a new player will notice, aside from the superb 3D graphics and mind-blowing surround sound, is the sheer size of Progress Quest. There are people who have played for literally years solidly, without reaching the end of the game. The immense scale may seem overwhelming at first, but thankfully Progress Quest's quest automation system makes keeping on top of the many interesting and diverse quests, sub-quests, mini-quests and bonus quests a breeze. The game features a large selection of unusual races and classes, adding to the already enormous replay value.

    Playing the game

Progress Quest can be played single player, but the real fun comes from joining one of the many dedicated multiplayer servers and mixing it up online. The games controls are simple and intuitive, and fit easily on a small reference sheet for handy in-game consultation. Combat in Progress Quest is just as simple and intuitive. There is no need to fine-tune your character for every battle you face, the games elegant (as a ****ing crank whore) character optimization system takes care of all the annoying micro-management so common is lesser RPG's, leaving you to focus on the fun.

Available races & classes in patch 6.2

Classes: Ur-Paladin, Voodoo Princess, Robot Monk, Mu-Fu Monk, Mage Illusioner, Shiv-Knight, Inner Mason, Fighter/Organist, Puma Burgular, Runeloremaster, Tongueblade, Hunter Strangler, Battle-Felon, Tickle-Mimic, Slow Poisoner, Bastard Lunatic, Lowling, Birdrider!

Races: Half Orc, Half Man, Half Halfling, Double Hobbit, Low Elf, Dung Elf, Talking Pony, Greater Gnome, Gyrognome, Lesser Dwarf, Crested Dwarf, Eel Man, Panda Man, Trans-Kobold, Enchanted Motorcycle, Will o' the Wisp, Battle-Finch, Double Wookiee, Skraeling, Demicanadian, Land Squid.

How to join the MMOwned guild

It's recommended to practice some in the single player mode before entering the dangerous online realm of Spoltog.

    - Once you feel you are ready for the challenge, register an account on the PQ website.
    - Select "Multiplayer" in the game's main menu.
    - Enter your account information & create a character
    - Press Ctrl-G to join a guild:

    Yes, the joke.

But the progress bars are in fact 3D shaded!

Progress Quest parodies the stat-gathering aspect of computer role-playing games, whereby the player advances his character by accumulating arbitrary statistic points. EverQuest and many other MMORPGs of its time are infamous for their "auto-attack" combat system, where players press a button to initiate combat mode and, from then on, have little to do other than watch; Progress Quest mocks this with its totally non-interactive gameplay after the initial character setup. Progress Quest also pokes fun at traditional RPG races, classes, stories, quests, items, and more.
