[Bypass Height Limit] Un'Goro Crater

Found an exploit with the item The Fossil-Finder 3000, the item is provided from the quest with the same name, The Fossil-Finder 3000 - Quest - World of Warcraft obtained from Spark Nilminer found in Un'Goro Crater.

The item points the character in the direction of the fossil, once at the location using the finder places a mound of soil underneath the character, this soil is a solid object that can be stood upon.

The fossil-finder can be used while mounted, using this the soil can be spawned above ground allowing soil to be placed at the height limit, once placed there can move onto it, going through the height limit. From there am able to fly around Kalimdor above the height limit.

Just for clarification; the mound can only be created at the fossils set location in Un'Goro, but at any altitude.

Nice work, love bugged quest items. I remember doing something similar with the rocket helm from Netherstorm as a druid (it might actually still work.) I would use it to get above the invisible wall and go above limits, since flight form is an instant cast. +rep

Well, it is exploration, and with exploration it isn't all about the uses and advantages. It is about the feeling that you get when you accomplish and find these little things in WoW. For me as an explorer, I find that when I get to a place that is not usually reachable, it is probably the most fun I have in the game, even though it doesn't give me an advantage like god mode or something. And yes, I do raid every week, have Madness down and everything; I just find that exploration gives me something to do when I am bored of the game, and is actually a lot more fun than raiding and PvPing. This is a great exploration tool, and I would agree with Trokair that is should be moved to the Exploration subforum.

possibly this could be used for pvp related naughty? or even pve? you can keep stacking them across a platform and pewpew off it.

I don't think that would be possible, because he said that it cannot be used outside of the quest area in Ungoro

For its use, it really goes into exploring territory once the exploits used to break out the boundary, would it be conceivable that there are some objects or land up there, somewhere? There's an infinite amount of space to search through.

As for my bare UI, I've got frames hided for the video, it is normally less empty.
