[Question] Spell blp again

So I used cryects tools to find out what My Dragons breath is made out of and I come up with the following list.



I Changed pretty much all of these into something else that fited my goal. (Which is creating a more "frosty" Dragon,) except for the generic black glow because that isnt needed to be changed. So I've tried 2 different ways of redoing the Fire1A.blp

1. Reskinning the blp by converting to .png and swapping some colors, adding my own stuff etc etc. and then swapping it back and loaded it into the mpq this = No change in the fire the dragon breaths out.

2. I tried simply loading another .blp into MWCS and use the same treepath as Fire1A.blp has (which is SPELLS\Fire1A.blp)) this = no change whatsoever.

My question here is, WHY won't the damn blp change into the color I want?
I've managed to change arcane missiles, mana shield, even the freakin PET into a snowlike creature just by reskinning the blp but this wont work.
PLEASE help!

What's the tree path for dragons breath?

I think " SPELLS\Mage_Dragons_Breath.m2 " is for that dragon head that makes the fire. The red fire itself has maybe an extra texture which is not included in dragons breath since it's used for many other spells, too. There should be a single texture for the fire itself, I think...

When you load the swapped BLP into the mpq does it look changed when you click on it or is it still the same?

Teufel since there is no fire surrounding the head then imo your theory doesn't quite work. Even if it's a good thought tho.

merfed, yes it looks changed and the .blp does not look like fire
