Well ... the problem of your request is, that cloaks in WoW always go only
on the back. You request one to get a bit on the shoulders, front-side and
the head.
As Teufel said, the only model like this is Medivh. But even Medivh's cloak is
far away from your dreams. I think you would get an awesome result when
taking Miev's cloak.
But on the taking .. Well, cloaks in WoW are just textures and a predefined
model. The model is in the characters itself. If you get a bad modelchange,
eg a creature -> race, you will see those 4 (?) different models all on the
back. So what you'd need is adding a new one ... Hmm .. It _is_ possible.
But sorry, its ****ing hard and I know of no one who managed it.
To the technical part:
Models are defined in several polygons, all bound to a geoset. This geoset
is a collection of triangles, that defines a part of the body. On characters,
geosets are: body, hair 1-7, cloak 1-4, wrists 1-4, hands, robes etc. Those
are hidden and only shown at purpose so you wont see them all
.
On some creatures you only got 1 geoset defining everything. BUt lets
come to Miev since she is the one of our interest:
- Hair
- "Horns"
- TIts, Hands, top-body
- Arms
- something in the neck, cant get what it is xD
- The cloak, part1 and some part of the hair again.
- The shoulders and some accesories of the cloak, part 2
- Feet, boot
- Legs
- Helm
- Eyes 1
- Eyes 2
So, what we need are geoset 6 and maybe 7. Geoset-exportation ..
uhm .. As said, you need the triangles and the geosetinformation,
additinally the textures and animations.
Well, that makes:
- Bones
- Vertices
- Views (LOD)
- Indices
- Triangles
- Vertex properties
- Submeshes
- Texture units
- (Render Flags)
- (Colors / Transp.)
- Textures
And I am not sure if I got everything. Well, you see, its not a small
list. I would wonder if someone here can manage it. So as of now,
forget that. Just do a little reskin with a black texture for a long cloak
and a matching helmet. That wont be that hard.
