1. Spec
For mages There are three specilizaions you can go by: Fire, Frost, And Arcane.
This Guide will focus on the spec of: Fire!

1.1 Fire!
So With fire here are the points of concern:
Master of Elements: MoE is much less effective. Since you aren't critting very much, you won't be getting anywhere near as much mana return via MoE
Hot Streak: Will become a much rarer occurance. Rare enough such that Critical Mass can start falling off your targets, unless you Scorch Refresh it.
Combustion: Getting a strong Ignite (via Crits) is needed for an optimal Combustion. But with lower ratings, this is more difficult to pull off (Takes more time, requires more luck). Combustion has a 2 minute cooldown: But are you prepared to wait a considerable amount of time after that to actually use it, because you want to get a worthwhile Ignite up first? Do you consider that interesting or frustrating design? Having a big Ignite isn't "Icing on the cake" for Combustion, it's the whole damn cake!

ROTATION:
Priorety system.
1. Living bomb
2. Fireball
3.Pyroblast (Only if Hot Streak is active)

Cooldown use:
Combustion: Only should be used when LB, Ignite, Pryo,and FFB are active. This will grant maximum DPS potential, For Debuff tracking You Can use Combustionhelper-(See section 3. Interface addons for DL link)

THESE ARE EXAMPLE SPECS!!!! YOU NEED TO CUSTOMIZE IT TO YOUR PLAYSTILE!!!!

Spec choices:
My personal spec: 4/32/0 : (Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft)
So there are a few things that people question me here for For example:Blazing speed
Blazing Speed: So There are quite a few encounters in the game right now that reqire you to move and sometimes constantly. I Keep this as a safty net so if i do get hit and blink is on cooldown i can get away in a decent resonalble manner.
Improved Flamestrike: This is in there for obious resons... We are still in Wrath!!! 99.99% of trash pulls still reqire AOE people. And also instant cast!

Crit over haste spec DPs spec: 1/32/3 : (Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft)
I dont exactly agree with this spec, It takes 3% crit and 1% haste over 3% haste. In the long run this is probally the better spec to go with!

Maximum DPS spec: 2/31/3: (Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft) - Credit goes to Mariodk

1.1.1 Glyphs:
Prime Glyphs:
-Living Bomb : Increases the Damage of your Living Bomb by 3%
-Pyroblast : Increases the critical strike rating on your Pyroblast by 5%
-Mage Armor: increases mana regen by mage armer by 20%
-Use:"mage armor reason for that glyhp as prime this becoz if mana gem/evo is on CD and low mana middel in a fight you can swap from molten armor to mage armor and dont use much mana just to evo/mana gem CD is up again and use evo at 40% mana and mana gem at 60%"- Mariodk
Major Glyphs:
-Fireball: Increases the critical strike chance on your fireball by 5%
-Molten Armor: Motlen Armor now grants 2% more Critical chance
-Frostfire bolt:Increases the damage done by you Frostfire Bolt by 15% and your Frostfire Bolt now deals 3% additional damage over 12 sec, stacking up to 3 times, but no longer reduces the victim's movement speed.
use of FFB: Adds another De-buff for your combustion to tick on
Minor Glyphs:
These are what ever fits your cup of tea. The ones listed are what I use.
-Arcane Brilliance : Decreases the Mana cost of your Arcane Brilance by 50%
-Penguin : Turns your Polymorph into a Penguin
-Slowfall: Makes your slowfall spell cost no reagents.

2. Combat stats, Gems, Enchants, and Consumibles

Combat stats:
Spell Hit 12.6154 = 1% hit NEED: 17.00% If you are below you need to find a way to get to 17% (Unless you are a space cow, you only need 16%)
Crit 22.0769 = 1% Crit Recommended: 25-30%
Haste 15.7692 = 1% haste Recommended: 25-30%
Mastery 22.0769 =1 Mastery Recommended: 12%



Gems:
Blue: Veiled Dreadstone: 10 Int, 10Hit
Red: Brilliant Cardinal Ruby: 20 Int
Yellow: Reckless Amtrine:10int 10 haste, Potent Amtrine: 10int 10crit
Meta : Chaotic Skyflaire Dimond:21 Crit, 3% crit


Enchants:

Bracer: Superior Spellpower(http://www.wowhead.com/spell=60767 ): +30 Spellpower

Belt: Eternium Belt buckle(http://www.wowhead.com/item=41611/eternal-belt-buckle ): Adds a Prismatic soket to belt
Pants:Brilliant Spell thread(http://www.wowhead.com/item=41602 ): +50spellpower,+20spirit
Ring(Enchanter only): Greater Spellpower(http://www.wowhead.com/spell=44636 ): 23 spellpower
Wepon 1h: Black Magic(http://www.wowhead.com/spell=59625 ): Chance on cast to grant 280haste; OR Mighty spell power ( http://www.wowhead.com/spell=60714) := 63 Spell Power to Wepon/
Wepon staff: Greater Spellpower(http://www.wowhead.com/spell=62948 ): +81 spellpower

Consumibles:
Flask: Flask of the Frostwyrm: 125Spellpower for 1 hour
Potion: Potion of Speed: 500 Haste for 15 seconds
Food: Fish Feast: 46 Sp, 40 Stam

Reforging:
Priority goes: HIT, Crit, Mastery, haste.
If at all the reqired or recommeded amounst of the combat stats reforge to mastery.

wrong spec + yellow gems you needing the 3% crit in frost tree and not fireblast talents becoz fireblast is not in mage rotation and yellow gems is int+crit or int+haste not pure crit/haste

impact + fireblast this 1st then 2nd potion of speed ? its for arcane you need to get 32.5% haste selfbuffed ( +5% from sp on raid) gives 37.5% wich affect on dots and lb...haste gem ekhm reforging is more effective

here is a nice mage (my own ) The World of Warcraft Armory - Súpermario @ Auchindoun - Profile see the gear setup and get some idea for your own mage np with trinkets if you dont got same as mine/or better get this one from totc5 normal/item lvl 245 int trinket from emb vendor best before totc25/ICC 10/25 normal or HC a bad idea to go after hit rat in trinkets best to go after it in small items like rings/necks/cloak and right now is he in pvp gear on armory sry for that but you can just see his pve gear/spec in WoW Heroes - World of Warcraft PvE character info & ratings and search for my mage´s name and realm and click on fire spec (long time age it updated fire spec gear) i dont got my arcane spec anymore becoz i do it much pvp for gem farming to goldz but my gear setup is the same for arcane too after the change with hit buffs/talents/debuffs

i see also now a wrong ench on 1h weapons Spell power is still before haste so 63 spell power instand black magic(also black magic is not passive just some haste in some sec.) Spellpower (now int)>hit to 17%(if draenei 16%)>haste and crit needed to Balanced like if you got 25% haste try to get about it same % in crit and mastery needed too ofc this before crit/haste but you can only reforge mastery yet here is how much is fine for your GS: 8.00 for all no hit capped, 5000-5500gs around 9-11% mastery 5500-6000gs around 10-12% and +6k GS over 12% but anyway a nice guide but more nice after i come here
for arcane is haste before crit nothing with try to Balance haste/crit
