Promote an alt to Guild Master 3.3.5

This is a very easy way to transfer ownership of your guild to an alt (on the same account) without entrusting it to a middle-man.

This is also the only working method I know of. Usually when you use the /afk \n macro, your alt will remain online but cannot be promoted to GM because it will appear guildless.

Method:

1. Log onto your alt char.
2. Create the disconnect macro (/afk \n) and place it on your action bar.
3. Go to any instance portal - Ragefire Chasm and Stockades are two easy ones.
4. Run into the portal and press your macro at the same time.
5. Log onto your GM char.

If all went well your alt char should still be online and eligible for promotion.

Note: If you try doing this without Steps 3 and 4 it will not work.

Forgive me if this is a repost. I've never heard of the method before I discovered it, and I can't find it anywhere else.

I would use that way:
Login ur alt
Run another WoW
Login to your account and your main (the GuM)
The WoW with alt will get DC but alt remains ingame (also you can alt+F4 this WoW)
While alt remaining ingame, promote him

This way can be used like for heping yourself with quest or killing your horde toon on equal level for honor or marks (till he DC´s)

^ As I explained above, that does not work. The alt will still be in-game but it appears as guildless - probably intentionally to stop players from doing this. You have to disconnect whilst zoning e.g. running into a portal.

Too bad you can't do this with guild invites. I would love to make another bank toon to add to my bank guild but I don't wanna invite someone just to invite me. +Rep from me because I know I will be using this soon

With or without the macro (/afk \n), PLAYER_LEAVING_WORLD fires after 20 seconds, which is the same as the logout timer.
