[Beta] YiasEdit DX - The new Aera 3.X Mapeditor

    Hello all!

I present you my newest creation. YiasEdit DX. Its a completly new version of my old WoW Mapeditor. It has changed so much that it basically isnt the same program anymore. A lot of more details were added, a lot of more features came into place and it is now a lot more userfriendly!

After several weeks of developping a first beta is ready to get shipped. Its purposes are to test the very basic features and basically to test the core engine. Its important to have a good base before i continue to program on the fancy features (which actually are already ready ). So for me its very important that you post errors you get so i can improve and strenghten the engine. If this works fine during the next week ill add more features (it has very less feautures atm) and will give you new versions.

During the night and tomorrow i will write and upload a complete documentation about the current features aswell as a filled tutorialsystem (which atm has only 3 entries).

I hope you will enjoy it and post a lot of things.

For everyone willing to get a little insight of the features, check my youtube-channel:
    YouTube - Cromonnn's Channel

    You find the download here:
    http://yiasdx.square7.ch/updater/YiasDXUpdater.exe

    NEWEST VERSION

    Here are the newest updates:
MCCV is working. This is used to manipulate the shaders that wow uses. Every pixel can be multiplied after rendering with a specific factor for alpha, red, green or blue. Here you can see the effects:

Drawing those MCCV-values is very easy. You just specify how every channel should be multiplied and then draw it:

Also there is full support for Oulands and Northrend is in development, as you can see from the following pictures:

And thats the roadmap for the future:
    - Adding low-detail shadows
    - Adding holes
    - Adding Objects

    Greetings
    Cromon

Have a look at the readme_common_errors.txt There is a link to the DirectX 9.0 redistributable you should install.

Speechless I hope custom .adts will be on that list soon enough

Edit: Yay, rev. 19 makes custom .adts possible! Although, having any models in an adt will cause the editor to crash if you get to close to it (yay, models will be added soon!). It would be even better if fog could be implemented (for better performance, since the "+" "-" functions don't really help, it feels more "chunky"/harder to get used to because of the way the .adt gets cut up [into squares] so it doesn't feel as natural as fog :P). Anyway, lookin' good

Really cool Cromon! The holes are fantastic, the shadows aren't that needed, since on higher settings, wow calculates actual shadows from models but stil awesome

Beautiful work. This is really shaping up to be what I always thought NoggIt should have been!

I don't have a lot of time to test it now, but give me a week or two and I'll see what I can do.

Really though, this is making me quite happy. The only thing that would make me happier would be a Mac version, but hey, I guess ya can't have everything :P It just means I'll have to fire up my XP virtual machine.
