i got a question , is model editing bannable?
i got a question , is model editing bannable?
Yes it is, but the chance's are so low!
So it's banneable, but you wont get banned for using it.
I asked a GM about Modelediting and he said that it's illegal...
pfff... don't care about cause MODELEDIT ROXX!!!
Thanks, really useful to know.
I'm more concerned if the fix that was released on this website is detectable?
Bannable, ofc it is. But it seems a bit blatantly obvious when it says in your proccesses "ModelExitFix.exe"...

Upon browsing all the lovely edits within this forum, I became somewhat tempted to go ahead and apply one myself.
However, having played WoW for 4 years now - I decided to hold off as frankly for me there is to much at risk.
I have now taken it upon myself to discover as much infomation as to exactly wether this is against the games ToC. My first step was taken lastnight when I decided "sod it" and created a ticket to a GM to ask them about this.
When I eventually got to speak to someone; I asked them one by one as to wether Skins, Textures, Models, Mount swapping - pretty much everything I could think of at the time. To summarize, editing anything outside of the Interface or WTF Folder is against ToC wether it be benefical to the user or not.
(Screenshots of the conversation will follow tomorrow)
Tomorrow night, I shall create another ticket - this time with similar questioning, only I shall also ask how it becomes about that somebody is banned for such a thing. This may also be followed by questioning about the Warden program, but I may keep that to another ticket - for another day.

That might be cool to post that chat log. I'll await it. However, I think its fairly safe. Just don't do anything stupid. Some of these example include, making the flags in WSG huge, Editing world to your advantage, adding new afk spots in Battleground. Pretty much don't do anything that will make you better than others and you won't get banned.
LOLI LOEV CAPS?????
I'm at work at the moment so I cant link them just yet.
That whole "Edit what you want as long as only you can see it" argument doesnt work though really does it.
You could edit skins, models etc so that in Arena you can see through pillars, doors etc - the other team that your up against will not be able to see you, but you will be able to see them. The possibilities are endless really.
It would indeed be nice if we could edit character models and such without risk - if they did indeed allow such a thing, there would be alot more exploiting of it within Arena's alone. They have to have one rule, for one group of people.
I remember when you could simply extract the mpq file into your WoW directory and edit the content easily, this was soon changed though and for a reason.
This the GM last night directed me to.Originally Posted by Blizzard ToU

What if I get an error , and send the error to blizzard. Will they find out I got an Model idit?
