    Request: TBC Model Editing Guide

Hello all. I am new to model editing. I am eager to get going myself. I want to start by changing one race into another. However all the guides on the forum are all pre-compression. Meaning that they are all very diffrent from what there is now.

A new guide would be brilliant, and very helpful for me and several other people i know who would love to start editing.

    Thanks a lot!

It isnt really any different, its easier at best, cause u dont need to switch mpqs as often. Instead of switching mpqs, just use common.mpq, and thats all you need to do! I suggest u start with something a little easier than a race swap, like a mount edit, or something. I have a really easy mount edit guide you can follow, Krazzee also has a really easy to follow druid form edit guide. Just remember when your reading it, when it says to go to like patch.mpq, or texture.mpq, or w/e, just go to common.mpq.

But sometimes that isn't the solution. For example in one race swap guide, it says (as a rough example) to go into the CHARACTER folder (with caps) then later to go into the Character folder (without caps). Not sure if I should just wing it from there or not, because there isn't any folder without the caps. Then it tells me to use renamer to change the names of the files, and that just doesn't cut it. I come out with a Tauren model with blood elf skins, and it ISN'T pretty.

The CHARACTER folder is the models and the Character folder is textures.
