How to create a new displayid entry with custom files?

I have recently created my own frostmourne edit for my private server and it works fine. However, I had some people ask if I could move it to its own displayid, so we could create items with just that display.

How would I do this? I imagine it has something to do with ItemDisplayInfo.dbc and the sorts.

Yeah. Analyze the ItemDisplayInfo.dbc and you'll get the general layout of what you need. Use examples from similar displays and you'll find a result that you're okay with. 'course, I'm sure someone's written how to do it somewhere before.

Yeah, a link would be awesome.

Also wondering if it could be done serverside or just clientside via patch

Shouldn't be necessary serverside, but it'd have to be included in your previous patch or a new patch. I'd suggest appending it to the patch that contains the frostmourne mod.
Suggestion: take the display ID from frostmourne, look it up in ItemDisplayInfo.dbc, then make a new ItemDisplayInfo.dbc for your patch that contains the one line with your duplicate and new display ID. Rename the path for your new modeled frostmourne and have the one-liner ItemDisplayInfo use that display.
I haven't seen a link relating to this before, but normal reasoning points to the above given answer.

Do I just need the one line in the DBC in my patch?

Also, the DBCUtil exports the filenames as numbers....What do I put?
