    [Racechanging] A strange bug..

Hello guys, so, as the title says, i currently have a bug with a racechanging folder i've been using ( and that i've updated ) for ages, and a very long time without changing it ( HuM->BeM ).

Now, even if i remove this folder, i still see my paladin human male as Bloodelf, which is a bit annoying, i'd like to play sometimes as human..

Then, if i remove this folder and put into Data's folder a racechanging for my dwarf male warrior ( DwM->ScM ), i see my pally as bloodelf with a deformed face..

I asked a few friends ingame and they told me they also had this " bug ", they had to reinstall completly WoW to see " normally " their char again..

Is there any other way to do it ? Reinstalling completly WoW would take such a lot of time..

ps : sorry for my poor english, im swiss and this is not my first language :s

Are you sure that you removed the patch-X.mpq file you had in your World of Warcraft/Data folder?

Did you leave a custom patch in your data folder when you downloaded a blizzard update patch? It could have been written into/merged with the games actual patch files.

If that is the case you should clear out all custom patches before installing a blizzard update. Run the repair tool. It might be able to salvage those files without having to do a clean installation. Try to keep a clean version of the game backed up somewhere else (external hard-drive, ipod - ect) just in case.

aha, you're right, last time i downloaded a blizz update patch, i forgot my custom patch in my data folder, though the patch's installation failed cos of it, i had to remove it before starting the installation again.

I'm gonna try it, anyway thank your for this tip.

I've done it twice ( only with WoW new cache data available as option, dont want to have to make my interface again ), and it's still buggy

Then, do i have to do a full reinstallation ? ( it would take almost one day :s )

Just delete all the patch.MPQ files in your Data folder and repair your game. It will send you back to patch 3.0.1 and then just repatch from there
