How do you do Creature to Character?

I've searched the forums for awhile and have yet to find an answer to this. How do you get a Creature to Character model-edit to work. I can get the model, and the animation, but I never succeed in getting a skin on it. Any advice? (yes, I do have the names changed and in the folder that the ones I want to replace are originally in.)

Any help at all? I can get the skins to show up on the original model but when I switch models the skins stop working, other than that everything works. Any help at all would be useful.

I've seen 2 other threads with this same problem, a guide or suggestion would be appreciated.
