Problems with ModelEditing (vista)

Hello everyone. Just tryed to Model Change my cute Dwarf to a mighty forsaken for the second time. Still dosen't work. Theres 2 problems, first of all when i make a Patch-?.MPQ and put it in the Data folder and start WowMe , i press F8 and log in , but the screen is all black. I can't see anything except the "Enter world" tab (and all the other tabs).
That was the first problem. The second problem is when i delete Scan.DLL theres a new file in my wow folder named Scan.NEW.dll (Not sure its the right but its something like that.

Would love to get some help.

(Using Windows Vista 32bit if that would be at any help)


P.S Sorry for spelling and if im not understood able enough. Tryed my best.

Hello, you have an old version of Wowme. Get the new updated one. google it. Double click on scan.dll and open it with notepad and delete all the text and save.

Should work perfect!

Thanks alot. Not Im using the 3.0.3 wowme. According to the user who put it on the forum

You maybe have inserted a Modelchange from 2.4.x, you need some from 3.0.x that's why you maybe get the black screen.

For Scan.dll - Delete it, and create an empty Textfile call it Scan.dll and activate the Writeprotection. Then copy and paste the Scan.dll (you should get a File called Copy - Scan.dll or something like that) and rename it Scan.new.dll and check if Writeprotection is turned on too on that file.

But make a copy of the original Scan.dll, without that file you are not able to Patch the game.

hmm i'm using vista and i have no problems : / at least not as serious as the one you've mentioned... from the sounds of things i'd say that the actual edit that you've made it ****ing it up, i'm no expert at this but id say tht u might have deleted something whichn was necesary or the actual patch which you're trying to patch ur game with is faulty as ****... but yeah, if ur wowme isnt updated then it blatantly wont work, update everything, restart ur comp, get rid of all the new patches, start again

Ok , im using WowMe 2.2.5 (3.0.3).So i quess its the MeS that is wrong. But i thought the MeS updated itself. Using Glitchys ofc
