    The link to the 4.0 savage saronite isn't working, and I'm not sure what's going wrong when I try to convert hte t10 lvl 264 helm ( http://www.wowhead.com/item=51127 ) to hte lich king helm. According to what guides I've been able to find I'm doing it right, but when I log in all I see is a loading bar and a blank character, and wow crashes if I try to log in. Do you think you could post some specifics on how to convert a helmet to this?

    Just tested it. Link is up and game doesn't crash.

    You need to edit ItemDisplayInfo.dbc. Locate the display id of your helm and change the model and texture name. It's quite easy.

    I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. What folder exactly do I put the patch.mpq in? I thought just wow/data ? do I need to rename it?

    EDIT: the link to savage saronite 4.0 seems to be working again, thanks

    So I don't understand what you mean by editing itemdisplay (I've done this 0 times before), but I tried renaming it wow-update-19342.mpq and putting in my data folder. then I put it in my wow folder too, and then data/data folder

    What am I doing wrong? It might be quite easy if you've done it before, but a lot of us aren't understanding your directions clearly.

    That's because you are trying to make an advanced model edit without previous knowledge. It's on the "advanced model edits" forum for a reason.
    Patches go inside "Data" folder.
    ItemDisplayId.dbc is the name of a DBC file (a file who contains information about the model used by an item, icon, texture, etc.). If you figure out what's the display id of an item, look for that display id inside ItemDisplayInfo.dbc and edit the model it uses, you can change the model of all weapons and armor in the game. You can use DbcEditor by Ad or MyDbcEditor to edit this kind of file.
    Download the configured mpqs i made (they replace the savage saronite set with the lich king armor) and explore them a bit.

    I renamed the lich king helm files to replace the headless horseman helm, and edited the .dbc file correctly, and it's working, but now the horseman's helm looks like this: Imgur
    Also the itemdisplayinfo.dbc file for 6.1 has only 23 columns while the one from your saronite set for 4.0 has 25

    I can't get the helm or shoulders to work. Most of the time either my game crashes or i end up with a blue and white checkerbox shape on my character's head or shoulders. I'm editing the .dbc file the right way, but it won't work. Why?
    I did get the tusks of mannoroth replacing the draenor dungeon plate shoulders. And i got the rest of the lich king armor files working.

    Ok, so, some of you were having trouble with the files for 5.x and 6.x, so i revised them and now are fully working.

    Updated for MoP and WoD!!



    Tested on every character and gender (both old and new models).

    Download:
    Filebeam - Beam up that File Scottie!

    Saronite patch: (no dbc editing because reasons)

    I just tested it and works with human male in 4.X. I think you messed up the .skin files.
    Also...i never made a dbc file for 6.1.

    The LK Shoulder files will only work with shoulders that have .blp files. If you try to use the new lk shoulder files to swap with a shoulder that doesn't have a .blp file it won't fully work.

    Every model in the game has a blp file. It works perfectly. If the textures are not hardcoded just edit the dbc files and problem solved.

    sorry, Im a newbie here.
    how to import that folder (ITEM) to world of warcraft folder so I can use it?
    I'd tried with MPQ editor to edit itemtexture.MPQ but it says [READ-ONLY]
