I'm really liking this model.
One problem, though.
Any idea why it's like this? :O

Try changing the texture resolution at the video settings of wow
If it doesn't work then it might be that your video card is having trouble with the multiple texture layers.
on both this and the shield i find that some of the textures dont show up once in a while, at certain angles :S

When texture resolution is on LOW - the earth shows!
When it is on HIGH - the earth is black again.
Any fix?
If you want some more screens to use on the main post of the thread i have an album here with both this and the shield ImageShack Album - 8 images

Can I ask you: what programs you used to make the model and the skin file?
This is amazing work, and a par tof of model editing I've never touched, so I'd like to know where to start.
I use Max for the model, Neodex's plugin and MDX Converter to get it working in-game, plus Tigurius' python scripts and a lot of hex-editing.
So far from what I've seen, after a certain amount of textures in the same model, there are progressively higher chances of them not showing up correctly because of driver/video card/other issues.
The problem textures disappearing as you come closer is from wow engine, there's nothing I can do (I think) to stop it. I've seen it happen multiple times in Blizzard's own models.

You mean a Tablet? Yes, I use a Wacom Intuos 4.
+rep only for the pure awesomeness of that mace!
This is to the OP.
I love how you made a planet version.
But can you also make a black hole version? If the titans built devices to harness energy from planets; Why not black holes? Would be a truly awesome design.
Plus i know you put alot of detail into the planet but you need to design an effect to make it look like its energies are being absorbed (a simple cone at the bottom isnt going to work), perhaps like a glow around the planet etc.

I could, and this is a neat idea, but I won't be doing it for two reasons:
1) I already made a blackhole-themed item (the shield).
2) No time anymore. I did these models during my vacations.
In any event, thanks for the feedback. That was actually a cool suggestion.
