    [WIP] Death Knight

    Ok, here it is, the MPQ file, and the WoWModelViewer equipment file
    (so you know what to spawn in game to see the armor)

    The file includes
    -human death knight texture change for the lightest shade of human skin, both
    male and female

    - A file you can load into WoWModelViewer to see what equipment from the retail game I changed. If you play retail, odds are you will not have all the armor in your bag...esp the Dreadnaught Shoulders, or the Belt of Might.

    If you are on a private server, well, you can spawn them all to your heart's content...the armor is a mix of all the different types, so you'll have to use a warrior character to wear it.

    I WILL be making custom SQL executables for the items soon, so that they will be 'new' items for use on your private servers. ETA: unknown atm.

    Here are the screenshots:




    NOTE:
    there are a couple small problems
    1. the kneecaps need some retexturing...for some reason there's just black space (grr)
    2. The male naked texture looks like this (I have no clue why it works this way, but as long as you cover up the skin, you cannot tell)


    3. I did not include a hair re-color.
    The transparent pixels in the scalp of the hair applied all over the face when changing the hair color in the creation screen...making the face a funny blue color. I will rework the hair (just a matter of making the pixels transparent again and not...blue) and release them in their own patch. ETA: not sure. I'm pretty burnt from changing and renaming all those ****ing faces.

    Update #1

    Well, done finally digging through almost all the MPQ archives in the data folder...good god, finding the bits n pieces of armor in a pain in the ass...

    don't tell me there's easy ways, or I'll stab your face with my...monitor.6):

    So I've got 25 BLP files to work with in all.....:yuck:
    Bring on the photoshooooop!

    I'm keeping a close watch on the following picture for reference since a) it's sweet and b) there's really nothing good beyond the shoulders in the WoW:WotLT trailer....

    In case you're wondering, the shoulders in the trailer are retextured t4 hunter shoulders.

    I wasn't wondering, but thank you anyways
    In fact, I might not even use them...I might just get nitty gritty with the dreadnaught shoulders, for two reasons...

    One, they're not as huge and bulky, and I'm not trying to 'exactly' copy what's in the trailer...
    Two, the hunter shoulders give off a green smoke, and the dreadnaught give off a blue....I'm thinking of sticking with blue since it will complement the rest of what I have planned for the armor




    Hello, photoshop (see if you can spot the unused, but really sweet-ass skull shoulder texture...)

    Update mask/shoulders

    Well, I'm happy with how the shoulders shaped up. I decided to not 'copy' what I saw in the Wrath of the Lich King trailer...because well, after thinking about it, that shit will be available to the database eventually anyways...why not go my own way?

    So I'm focusing more on making the armor something that attatches to a person, and binds to them, so it's going to be some armor recolors yeah, but also very skeletal, symbiotic, and not as dark as the 'all black, bits of blue' that the trailer seemed to hint at.

    So here's the shoulders and the facemask, I'm still toying with the mask, I wanted it to give the effect of something alien that attatched to the knight...well blah blah blah, I could go on forever....here's the pics...

    Those comments, I couldnt give a rat's ass about...I'm doing this for fun, it'll be the 3rd or 4th thing I've reskinned...ever...so...love it or hate it, it's here.

    Looks great so far man, best of luck with the rest of your work. Like what you've done to the shoulders.. looks more... evil too me.

    you should use the warrior t3 as ref it looks pretty simular

    Thanks for the input dodge/grymsvll

    Actually, I amy using a version of a belt that has skulls around it, and Grym, that's a really good point about the Dreadmist, as it does have alot of skull-ish looking pieces, and the shoulders are actually really great because they fit pretty closely with the concept art pictured above in the thread.

    But also on the dreadmist set the skull portions become very stretched at parts, making the skulls somewhat fuzzy, which I'm not a huge fan of. But I think I'll probably skin up some shoulders and include them in the final MPQ also, just because they do match very closely with the concept art

    Update:
    Will be finished soon, just need to do the shield, and well, remember all my little file trees for importing >:X

    I think you guys will like the shield. it's odd, but it's the most exciting/interesting part, I think. :P

    Looks sweet, if i were to suggest something, maybe make the teeth of the bottom of the shoulders come out? or add teeth to the bottom?

    NEARLY finished. SCREENSHOTS....

    First, to Deface...that's a nice suggestion, but to make teeth 'come out' would mean basically changing the original model, which isn't possible as far as I know. And then you would have to worry about how the texture maps itself onto the changed model afterwards, etc etc etc. So, while a good idea, not something that can be done.

    Ok, well I need to redo the belt, and change the arm textures, but all in all, I am considering it pretty much done, mainly because I'm tired of working on it. I think it came out nicely, and here's some screenshots...






    Might also work the boots a little, now that I'm looking at em...
