PvE guide to the Warrior "Weapon" in WoW Shadowlands 9.2.5

In Shadowlands, warriors with a "Weapon" specialization still rely on the Colossus Strike effect and can deal heavy damage, but only if they have the ability to "disperse". The main advantage of specialization is flexible abilities for dealing damage to one target, several targets standing close to each other, and explosive AoE damage. In addition, the "Weapon" has effects that give invulnerability to physical attacks.

    1. The main changes of the Warrior Weapon in Shadowlands:

In Shadowlands, the specialization of "Weapons" has not changed much, except for fine-tuning some talents and abilities. Players familiar with the specialization in the BfA version will probably find it familiar and note the increased potential due to the appearance of new defensive and auxiliary abilities.

The most significant change in the specialization of "Weapons" is related to the mechanics of Skill: deep wounds. Now it increases the damage received by the target from all abilities, not just from periodic effects. Now Deep Wounds have the highest priority in the rotation, regardless of the number of targets.

Instead of Execution, the Death Blow and Colossus Strike abilities are now used to apply the Deep Wounds effect to the target, and the effect itself lasts longer, so it is easier to maintain it.

Viability of the "Weapon" specialization in the current patch:

The Weapon specialization has a flexible set of abilities for dealing damage to one or more targets. Unfortunately, at the moment, the damage from these abilities leaves much to be desired. Bundled bonuses for "Frenzy" work better than bundled bonuses for "Weapons", however, "Weapons" still work well in raid battles with two goals and epochal dungeons.

    2. Advantages and disadvantages:

    Advantages:
    - Flexible abilities that allow you to deal damage to one or two targets, as well as permanent or explosive AoE damage.
    - High mobility thanks to the Jerk, Intervention and Heroic Jump.
    - Defensive abilities: Fight to the death, Resistance to pain, Reflection of spells and Encouraging cry.
    - Gain for the group in the form of a Battle Cry.

    Disadvantages:
    - Slow and boring rotation.
    - Lack of powerful cooldowns for one purpose.
    - Talents that provide permanent and explosive damage exclude each other (Dissecting Blow and Peacemaker).

    3. The talents of Arms Var in Shadowlands 9.2:

    Leveling and completing tasks.

The build is intended for short battles with monsters in the open world. It provides additional healing, movement speed, explosive damage and ease of rotation (due to Sudden Death, Deadly Calm and Fearlessness).

    Level 15: War Machine
    Level 25: Double Time
    Level 30: Bloodshed
Level 35: Second Wind/ Limit step
    Level 40: Peacemaker
    Level 45: Deadly Calm
    Level 50: Fearlessness

    Dungeons and Keys:

In dungeons, fighters are usually required to deal explosive damage to multiple targets and move quickly from place to place. If desired, the Thunderer's Blow and the Limit Step can be replaced. The legendary Seal of the Tortured Kings effect is usually used in combination with the Devastator, but in dungeons it works well with a Whirlwind of Blades and Fearlessness.

    Level 15: Sudden Death
Level 25: Double Time/ Thunderer Strike
    Level 30: Bloodletting
    Level 35: Defensive Stance
    Level 40: Peacemaker
    Level 45: Avatar
    Level 50: Fearlessness

In epochal dungeons with high-level keys, a warrior usually needs a hybrid build that combines talents to deal damage to one or more targets. The exact combination depends on the dungeon modifiers.

    One goal:
This build is usually used in battles with raid bosses. Some talents (for example, Second Wind) are designed for specific fights.

    Level 15: Sudden Death
    Level 25: Double Time
    Level 30: Bloodletting
Level 35: Defensive Stance/ Ultimate Step
    Level 40: Peacemaker
    Level 45: Avatar
    Level 50: Fearlessness

The build is general and does not take into account the specifics of specific fights.

    4. Covenants, mediums and guides for a warrior with a specialization in "Weapons" Important information! Notes on Covenants and Mediums:

A player who has reached level 80 of fame in one of the covenants can freely switch between covenants without losing progress in each of them. Some players take advantage of this and choose different covenants for different types of content. To play effectively in different covenants, you need to pump them up to a certain level.
To instantly gain level 40 fame and discover most of the talents of mediums, you need to buy a Broker's Badge of Distinction. The remaining 40 levels of fame can be taken by visiting the Auction, battlefield or raid, completing daily tasks or weekly covenant tasks.
From the point of view of "Weapons", the best covenant for raids is the night folk, and for epochal dungeons - kiria.

Why do we recommend choosing night folk or kiri?

The Night Folk are the strongest covenant for fighting with one goal, kiri provide maximum AoE in epochal dungeons. You can upgrade both covenants and change them along with legendary items as needed, depending on the mechanics and timers of the battle that you are facing. In raid battles with multiple targets, the night folk break out ahead, in epoch-making dungeons kirii work better, since the Re-push of the Ancients has a limit on the maximum number of targets.

Necrolords give a group effect to the detriment of personal productivity. Necrolords are considered not a very successful covenant for warriors. The exceptions are poorly dressed characters who want to support stronger allies, as well as raids that require maximum explosive damage to implement non-standard tactics. Nevertheless, the use of the Conqueror's Banner requires exceptional coordination and complete absence of mistakes on the part of all members of the raid. It is for this reason that necrolord warriors are rare. If you are interested in personal damage, we recommend that you choose another covenant.
