PvE guide to the Warlock "Demonology" in WoW Shadowlands 9.2.5

In the new addition, the specialization "Demonology" has been reworked once again. In the Legion, demonologists commanded powerful demons, but the vast majority of players did not like this concept. In the "Battle for Azeroth", the developers decided to correct their mistake and gave the demonologist the opportunity to command armies of small minions again. The specialization "Demonology" has an interesting and not too fast rotation based on the summoning of the fiends of hell and the generation of resources. To inflict full-scale damage to demonologists, a certain "acceleration" is required, but when this simple condition is met, it becomes very easy to play. Representatives of the "Demonology" specialization also perform well in battles, where it is often required to run from place to place, but only if they manage to correctly predict defections.

    1. The main changes of the Warlock Demonology in Shadowlands

A warlock with a specialization in "Demonology" in Shadowlands has not changed much, except for talents that were considered useless in the BfA (Pulling forces out of the shadows).

In addition, some bugs with pets have been fixed (for example, demons no longer get stuck in textures of different levels). Demonic Absorption now absorbs 15% of each demon's maximum health and increases damage by 10% (instead of completely destroying demons).

In Shadowlands, all warlock specializations have access to the following curses: The Curse of Tongue-tied, the Curse of Weakness, the Curse of Exhaustion. These effects improve the quality of life, but do not affect rotation.

And finally, the Demonic Circle became a basic ability, and the Howl of Terror became one of the talents.

    Viability in the current patch
In patch 9.1, the "Demonology" specialization is used mainly in dungeons. It allows you to deal heavy damage to one or more targets and provides the warlock with reliable protection. In raids, the effectiveness of specialization depends on the characteristics of the boss. Compared to "Witchcraft" and "Destruction", the damage to 2-3 targets in "Demonology" is low. However, the specialization is suitable for boss fights that require explosive damage every 1 or 1.5 minutes.

In the Tomb of the Eternal, "Demonology" is considered one of the top specializations. It provides impressive damage to a single target due to being torn out of the portal, regardless of the situation. Demonology also has an alternative workable build (although it requires a high level of equipment and the ability to wear two legendary items at the same time).

    2. Advantages and disadvantages

    Advantages:
    - Heavy damage on one target
    - Effective damage on two or three targets.
    - High mobility
    - Strong explosive damage caused by short-term effects.

    Disadvantages:
    - "Overclocking" is required to inflict damage in full.
    - Limited opportunities for dealing AoE damage.
It depends heavily on pets and guardians with artificial intelligence.

    3. Talents of the Demo Lock in Shadowlands 9.2

One goal, Demonic absorption without bonuses from the kit
Level 15: Demonic Power or Explosive Cholegnuses
    Level 25: Demonic Call
Level 30: any talent of the player's choice
    Level 35: Summoning the Abomination
Level 40: The Face of Decay
    Level 45: Grimoire: Fel Guardian
    Level 50: Demonic Absorption
Two or three goals, Demonic absorption without bonuses from the kit
Level 15: Demonic Power or Explosive Cholegnuses
    Level 25: Demonic Call
Level 30: any talent of the player's choice
    Level 35: Soul Strike
Level 40: The Face of Decay
    Level 45: Grimoire: Fel Guardian
    Level 50: Demonic Absorption

The best guides for the specialization "Demonology"
Below are the ratings of the best conductors, divided by category.

Conduits of Power: The Blood Spawn and the Fel Warrior are considered the most effective and flexible conduits. The tyrant's soul is suitable for fights with one goal, and Carnivorous hunters are intended for builds with a Terrible blow From the shadows.
Guides of precision: Demonic inertia for fast movement and Impetuosity of Filth for situations in which pets often die.
Endurance Guides: The Devil's Bloodstone is the strongest guide for dungeons and raids. If there are several warlocks in the group, the effectiveness of the guide decreases. The unshakable barrier is suitable for mastering single content, as well as for battles with periodic flashes of damage.
