More privacy in the new Community guild chat
TL;DR: Autoremoves YOUR messages from Guild Community tab, available here:
GuildMessageRemover - Addons - World of Warcraft - CurseForge
With the introduction of the new Community guild chat (which is basically just the normal guild chat, but now you can read it several places), a privacy concern was raised.
When you type something into guildchat, everyone who is online in your guild can see that message. That's fine, it's been that way since the start of the game.
Right now, however, your message is also written to the 'Community' tab for you guild. This is where things potentially get weird.
Anyone who logs in, or gets invited to your guild, can scroll up and read everything you have written in that chat. The chat itself also fails to convey some of the context that is naturally present in the normal guild chat, like Achievement / Mount / Legendary loot popups.
It is also quite doable for anyone who looks into the Ingame API to see how easy it is to just download large portions of the guild chat log.
That seems potentially troubling.
I made an addon to counteract this, by simply deleting your messages from the community tab instantly. Anyone who is online and is reading your guild-messages in the normal wow chat frame, will be entirely unaffected. The only difference here is that this will remove messages in the community tab.
