Playing WoW trough a proxy (when behind a school/work firewall)

Problem, My computer for school is equipped with a blocker, i cannot INSTALL anything, but i can transfer files. Thats how i got WoW on this computer. I dragged my files from my real computer. Will i be able to do this aswell with that technique?

I think blizzard IP bans you?
and, i think, a proxy changes your IP address.

This combination is not perfect

It depends on how proactive your school/work is

This combination will work and will give you an ok 400ms ping, but if you IT manager had a look at what you were doing then he could tell

Or Just use an ssh server:

1. Install cygwin on your windows with the ssh client
2. Have an ssh server at home or elsewhere
3. in cygwin : ssh myserver.com -D 1234
4. conf sockscap to ip 127.0.0.1 and port 1234
5. Run wow o/

Advantage:
- Cyphered so the admin can't see what you're doing
- Often faster cause proxy are overflowed
- Pass firewall most of the time cause firewall policy often block common proxy port: 1080, 8080, ...

To all those that can't install programs on their machine: You can just install them on an external disk and run them from there -- or drag them over after installation..

I have this setup on my external USB disk. Wow is placed on it along with sockscap and your-freedom. Nothing is installed on the machine itself.
