Your blizzard downloader is slow? get in here !

Ok guys i have looked around with the search engine and i found no match for this tip.

This is probably going to allow you to download at a much higher speed on the blizzard downloader if you got trouble with it (i went from 100kish/sec to full speed 1 mo sec (my connection sucks))

We are gonna "mess" (nothing scary here) with internet explorer but it will work even if you are not using it, just because blizzard made the downloader in a way it actually uses IE settings.

What you want to do is

1) Open IE (no, really?)
2) Go to tools (or settings or a sort of wheel right of your screen)
3) go to internet options
4) connections tab
5) Lan setting (now you are probably thinking i'm a retard)
6) Uncheck "Automatically detect settings"
7) apply and voila, you should dl a lot faster

Note : depending on your version of IE you might need to look around a little in the options but as far as i know it's always in the connection tab.

Thats strange it made a big difference for me and for other people (i posted it on a d3 forum the day of the release for the patch and a lot of people seemed happy about it) maybe you were already dling fast? The downloaders are the same i think?

if you consider 500kb/s fast.. :P I'm used to 3mb/s or more..

Well thats kinda strange given the fact i went from less than 100ko to 1mo/sec.
I see two logical reasons.

1) You are already "fast" enough (would be kinda strange)
2) The downloader arent the same for wow and diablo and that would be strange really :confused:

You sure you unticked the right box and applied?

I've done this before, on some computers this has no effect and on others it can fix dls that are stuck. My cousins laptop refused to download WoW until I did this.

There is another way to do it without IE:
1. Open Control Panel.
2. Find "Network and sharing center".
3. In the bottom left corner of the screen there is "Internet Options", click on it.
4. Just as above, open the connections tab
5. Press "LAN Settings"
6. Uncheck everything(unless you use a proxy, then the fix doesn't work afaik EDIT: It might **** your internet if you uncheck everything and use a proxy!)

Im doing 11.5 downloading Blizzard products on a FIOS connection. I think thats the limit because it doesn't fluctuate, it stays steadily at 11.5MB/s until the download is finished.
