Okay, haven't seen something similar to this in the similar threads that came up when I created the thread, so here it goes. The base talents needed to become a somewhat viable Tank / Offtank.
Here's a link to the Talent Spec:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
And now a little bit more info about the different needed talents and the less needed talents.
Balance Tree:
none
Feral Tree:
Ferocity: 5/5
Reduced costs for various Bear abilities, cheaper abilities = faster threat buildup = DPS can start earlier
Feral Instinct: 3/3
Increased Threat (15 %), more Threat = better
Thick Hide: 3/3
10 % more armor from items: more armor = less melee damage taken, so can't be bad
Feral Swiftness: 2/2
4 % dodge
Feral Charge: 1/1
This one is somewhat situational, good for bosses that throw you around, as it can be used in combat
Sharpened Claws: 3/3
6 % Crit: extra Crit = extra Threa
Shredding Attacks: 2/2
Cheaper Lacerates = more Threat
Predatory Strikes: 3/3
Increased Melee AP by 150 % of your level: so at 70 that's 105 extra AP
Primal Fury: 2/2
Extra Rage when you crit: extra Rage is always good
Faerie Fire (feral): 1/1
Gives the Druid the ability to pull from Bearform
Heart of the Wild: 5/5
20 % extra Stamina in Bearform
Survival of the Fittest: 3/3
Reduces chance to be Crit by 3 %, this is the talent needed for a Druid to become Crit immune
Primal Tenacity: 3/3
Increases your chance to resist Stun and Fear by 15 %: this one is also rather situational, but can come in handy sometimes
Leader of the Pack: 1/1
+ 5 % Crit for you and your party members
Improved Leader of the Pack: 2/2
Party members heal for 4 % when they crit (once per 6 secs max.)
Predatory Instincts: 5/5
Your crits hit for more and you gain 15 % chance to avoid AoE attacks
Mangle: 1/1
You'll love this one
Restoration Tree
Furor: 5/5
Used to reach the second Tier of Resto talents and imho better than Improved Mark of the Wild
Naturalist: 5/5
10 % more damage
Omen of Clarity: 1/1
Chance when Druid melees to get ability free of cost (procs in all forms)
This leaves you with 5 talent points that you can choose wherever you like.
Well, this concludes this little talent discussion, please feel free to add remarks, ...
