Make money selling shirts when the Legion pre-patch releases - turn 100g in 10Kg
Hello,
As you probably know, with the Legion pre-patch, the wardrobe system is going to be implemented. With the wardrobe, comes the "Fabulous" achievement which requires you to collect 25 appearances for every slot, including shirts.
The achievement got updated last week and the requirements changed a lot. It only requires now 15 shirts, down from 25, the guide will still work fine, but the demand might be lower and the offer higher.
Most people currently have only a few shirts, maybe 4 or 5, and they'll want to get the achievement as soon as possible, especially when they have a lot of gold from WoD that is not yet useful for Legion stuff (so, during the pre-patch), and we're going to profit that.
- Get a tailor character. Shirts only require WOTLK components, so I assume that the required level of tailoring is 425 (and maybe even less).
- Get the required plans for the shirts : All tradeable shirts crafted with tailoring.
- Gather the materials for the shirts, all of them are available on the AH for a cheap price (see note 2 for Frostweave cloth).
- Craft the shirts
Now, you can either sell them one by one, or you can advertise a "pack" that will instantly unlock the achievement, selling all the 25 shirts at once. I would personally go for the pack since some shirts are really cheap, and it's way faster to get money.
A few notes :
- Shirts are going to be BoE in Legion, so they won't be tradeable and you'll need to equip them to unlock the appearance.
- If Frostweave cloth is too expensive on the AH, you can farm it VERY quickly following this guide : Frostweave farming spot (Frost weave farming spots) (only use the first farming spot in the lower location and a realmhoping addon.
- Shirts are not stackable, so it's going to take a lot of space, and you should consider storring the materials instead of the crafted shirts.

The achievement got updated on Legion beta, and it seems like it will only require 15 shirts to complete now instead of 25. The guide is not obsolete but the demand might be lower than expected.

To keep you updated, I sold 3 packs for a total of 6K (sold them between 1K5 and 3K / 15 shirts) in a few minutes of advertising.
It sells really well once you start advertising, I recommand using the following macro:
Code:
/2 Be ready to get the title "The Fabulous" available in the Legion pre-patch! I'm selling a pack of 15 shirts that is required to complete a part of the achievement :)
Then, if they want more informations, you can redirect them to the achievement on wowhead: Fabulous - Achievement - World of Warcraft
If they're saying that the shirts are white items that will not work in the transmog system, all the shirts are going to turn into green items that will be bound on equip.
They can check all those informations themselves on the PTR, since it's already available.

Why don't you just buy the shirts from the vendor in Dalaran before it goes away. 750g = 15.

the old dalaran won't go away, so you'll still be able to get everything from it later on

You get a much higher profit by crafting them.

Considering there's only 2 tabards that are not bound on pickup and that one of them is the guild tabard, how do you manage to do that?
