Welp... I looked around to make sure i'm not writing a repost, and I couldn't find anything related to this.. So I thought i'd go ahead and post it. I don't think blizzard had intended for players to use the game mechanics this way - but I wouldn't really consider it an exploit, so i'm posting it here.
Through the past i've seen several people asking around how to move gold from their ally characters to their horde characters .. I'd mostly see people answering with things like the usual "Booty Bay Auction House" or "Buy guild boas, send them over to opposite faction character, vendor them" .. Both of those methods, and just about every other one i've seen end up taking out a huge loss for you (in gold, or cash .. for the amount you'd be getting on your opposite faction toon) .. Also seems the only way to transfer gold from server to server is a server change ($25 USD) .. Welp, I had an idea, and I thought i'd try it .. And it seems to work perfectly.
The concept is simple.. Battle pets!
Buy a battle pet out of the AH on your faction / server toon with the gold.. Add it to your list, hop on the toon you want the gold to be on, find it in your list, put it in a cage and sell it on that server .. This could even end up in lots of profit if the battle pet you bought on the first server is selling for more on the server you're 'moving' the gold over to.
Anyways, this might just be common sense to some people, while it may not be to others.. I wouldn't know. (other than searching around the internet.. which I did, and it doesn't seem to be common knowledge there.) So i'm just going to put it out there.. It should solve most of your problems with getting fair amounts of gold from one server and/or faction to another .. for free!..
Steps:
1. Buy a battle pet on the character you have the gold on.
2. Train the battle pet on the character you bought it on.
3. Switch over to the character you want to re-sell it on. (Can be on a different realm, and/or faction.)
4. Find the pet in your pet journal, and put it in a cage.
5. Find a way of selling it. (Auction house, or /trade ..maybe?)
Good luck, and thanks for reading.![]()
