[Multi-Vent] Talk to your friends and your raid, at the same time!

This is not a repost btw.

I am here to teach you about multi-venting.

Many of my guild members wonder why there are two of me in the same vent sometimes, or are curious why I am talking to myself.

    I AM MULTI-VENTING.

    First things first.

Open Ventrilo, make 2 different User Names.

Make both PTT (push-to-talk) and bind one to CTRL, and the other to ALT.

Now make your servers that you wish.

Soo say VentUser1 is in a raid group.
and VentUser2 is in a vent chatting with friends.

Lets say ALT is binded to User2 and CTRL is binded to User1.

You would just press ALT to talk to friends, and CTRL to talk to your raid.

Now... to make multi venting possible.
If you get an error message trying to run vent saying:
Another copy of Ventrilo is already running.

Another copy of Ventrilo is already running.
You are not set up for multi-venting.

Sooo find your vent icon, shortcut, etc.
Right click it, go to properties and look at the picture below:

Sooo this is what the path looks like:

    "Path\Ventrilo\Ventrilo.exe" -m

Just simply add {space}-m after the " marks.
    The {space} represents a space. Dont write {space}

And you apply changes, press OK, Run vent, run another, if you did it right, it worked!

Or just mute the guild vent, listen afk to them, reply in raid chat.
And talk freely with your friends in the other channel.

Been using this for while aswel, surprises me this hasn't been posted yet.

Also, Ventrilo, 'wrong forum', as that was the remark I gotten on my ventrilo fun post.

Just because "everyone knows this" (which is complete and total bullshit, if you can supply this forum with evidence that 6,802,800,000 people know this then I will delete this line) and "this has been around for years" doesn't mean this isn't useful. Some people only know how to do a few things on vent (like connect and talk).
If you don't have anything constructive to add, other then snide remarks, then why bother posting anything at all?

Yes there are some like me who have run their own vent server and know all the ins and outs.

Here is an alternative to this that only requires only one user and one Ventrilo:

Step 1: Connect to whatever vent server you will be using.
Step 2: Put yourself into the channel that you will using for the raid
Step 3: Right click the channel that your friends are in (that aren't in the raid) and choose "Miscellaneous" and then in that submenu select "Add/Remove Phantom". You should now see your username preceded by a "P"
***Some vent admin's disable Phantoms in certain channels (or all channels), so if you're unable to create one, then this might be why.***

Step 4: Click the "->" button next to the "Bindings" box.
Step 5: You should now be in the "Setup Bindings" window. Click "New" and type in whatever name you want.
Step 6: Click "Add" at the bottom left, select "PTT Advanced" and set the Hotkey to something other than the one you are currently using.
Step 7: Select "Channel By Name" as your Transmit Style. Click the ellipses ("...") next to "Channel name(s)", select the one you have your Phantom in, click "<-Add" and "Ok"
Step 8: Close out of any extra windows until you're back at the main vent screen. Select your keybinding under "Bindings" dropdown box and you should be good to go. Just remember your different PTT keys.

    Enjoy!

+Rep for the guide, even though to some it might be common sense.

You can use bindings as officers in my guild do for example.

Anyway i prefer to have ventrilo on my speakers and skype with my buddys in my headphones, so i can listen both without any problem.
