Battered Hilt Group farm

Hey all, My first post wasnt very successful, so lets try again, but with a completely different topic.

Basically I am going to tell you guys exactly how my guild has outfitted all interested members of our core raid with their own versions of Quel'Delar


The Setting: HoR,

The Group: 1 tank, 1 healer 2-3 dps.

What to do: Ok, basically the first fight in HoR is 10 waves of mobs, 5 waves, followed by a boss, followed by another 5 waves. What you want to do is Kill everything up until wave 8 or 9 then have your group wipe. The ghosts that are the makeup of each wave all have a chance to drop the Battered Hilt.

The reason you wipe near the end of the waves is to refresh the waves, you'll have to go through the 5 waves preceding the last boss(if you choose to kill the first miniboss) again in order to get to the last boss...well for this, we dont want the last boss, so just keep grinding the waves, then wiping just before the boss(or on the boss if you preffer)

Rinse repeat, you can kill as many ghosts as your party has time for.

this is how we outfit our core raid with quel delar.

I was saved to PoS at the time we started this ^_^ which as you know = inability to farm PoS for Quel Delar. But Yes, if you aren't saved that is a fantastic way of doing it as well. My only goal is to have given at least one person a useful alternative tip.

I've reset the encounter by getting into a run in progress on my mage and evocating at the start of a wave. The mob popped through the door and reset the encounter. This means you can probably fear one through the door to have it reset

Yeah i imagine Pit of Saron with a group is a better way to farm for it. I was doing it with me dpsing, 1 tank 1 heal then repeating.

Pit of Saron is easily solo farmed, I posted this as more of an alternative, I know that on my server people think PoS is the only place the hilt drops, this is to show that A) it drops elsewhere, B) It's easily farmed elsewhere(as an alternative).

I simply meant this to show an alternative to conventional methods, as I said, My goal is to only help 1 person, if I help more thats fantastic.

what I want to know is i have been told it only drops in FOS is that true or not I keep getting conflicting answers

Yeah I find this instance trash <alot> harder than the trash in PoS, ocasionally you can get burned down by 2 mages / footman / whatever mobs and get frustrated, unless you have a good group ofcourse ;-)

@ Featherstorm - I does NOT only drop in FoS, whoever told you that is clearly a lesser intellectual, so to say.

Directly from a blue post that was on ************: The Skeletal Slave in the Pit of Saron has had the ability to drop the Battered Hilt and other random drop epics removed.

So with this new developement I do believe the fastest way to farm the battered hilt is through HoR

Well i just did this and it worked.

Until i missed the roll.
