    lvling while AFK (58-70)

**** WARNING! THIS METHOD MIGHT GET YOU BANNED ****

    **SCREENSHOTS ADDED.**

This guide is aimed at people in the levelrange 58-70, but can be used from as low as 53 to as high as 73-74 probably.
(might not be very efficient however)

    Introduction:
Right, I suppose many of you have read the exploit about the mobs that are at siege with valgarde keep.
    Check it out here.

Anyway, as you would know from reading the guide, these mobs don't give exp depending on how much damage you deal to them,
but rather at which percentage their health is currently at, when you tag them.

Now, the idea of this guide is to make use of that while being afk.

    STEP 1:
    Download Autoclicker.
You can get it at ShockingSoft, © by Shocker, 2008.

Set it up any way you like, it doesn't really matter that much.
If you're gonna use auto-attack like a wand/bow/gun etc. you might want to increase the click interval
to a more suitable number, like 1500-2500 milliseconds, so you actually get your shots away.

In the picture, the click interval is set to 1300, but when using a bow/gun etc. find that a bit too slow.
Change it to whatever fits you best.

    STEP 2:
Get some noggenfogger (unless you're a mage).
Run up on the cliffs on the west side of valgarde, along the road next to the inn and citywall.
When you get in a good enough position, consume noggenfogger until you get the slow fall effect.
Now mount up and jump towards the nearest cannontower.
Up here you should be rather safe from the mobs, unless you aggro them before guards do.

This is where I jump from.

    This is where I stand.

    STEP 3:
    Make a macro.
    Something like this would work:

    /assist Valgarde Defender
    /cast shoot

Another alternative would be to put one of the guards on focus and use:

    /assist [target=focus]
    /cast shoot

The good thing with this macro is that you won't risk targeting some random guard 100 ft away.
The downside is that you will only attack one guards targets.

Now we don't want to take any damage, since we might not be at the computer to keep track of our HP.
That's why we'll only assist the guards, so that they get initial aggro.

This is what my macro looks like.

    STEP 4:
Put your macro on one of your actionbars, and start autoclicker.

    Tip:

#You should refrain from using this at peak hours, since it is bannable and people might report you.

#This works for both horde and alliance.

#Adjust the click interval to whatever suits your weapon best. 1500 is perfect for me, but you might find it too fast or too slow. Tweak a little!

#You might want to use an attack with as long range as possible, or you will end up getting alot of "too far away" messages.

#If you start using this at a low level, you might want to get some gems/items/enchants to buff your hit rating, since you will miss alot otherwise.

#In some cases, you might want to get a low level weapon, so that you dont overaggro the guards.

#Even if you shouldn't get aggro by this method, there's always the risk that you do. You might overaggro or you might just get in their aggro range before the guards pick em up. So if you do this as a mage/priest/shaman, it might be nice to change the macro slightly so it looks like this instead:
    /assist [target=focus]
/cast Ice Barrier (earth shield, power word shield, etc.)
    /cast shoot

This will rebuff ice barrier or your defensive spell of choice every time the cooldown on this spell is up.
This should make you stay alive until the mob you got aggro on resets.

I suppose you could add potions or healthstones to the macro aswell, since they won't be consumed unless you take damage.
Many different ways to tweak the macro I suppose.

Note. I was planning on putting it to a test for an hour and see how much exp I'd get,
but I got bored after 15 minutes since there wasn't anything good on TV lol.
Anyhow, during those 15 minutes I got about 60k exp on a lvl 70 rested toon.
This works like a charm, even at lvl 70.

Looks like it would work but when WoW had an exploit with a quest in icecrown where you ride a tiger and follow a scent and a level 80 dwarf with level 80 loot followss you but he only has 2k health, used an autoclicker to spawn about 3000 of them (not joking) and aoed them, and did that for 1 day then got a nasty little 3 day suspension.

Dont know if it was for the autoclicker or exploiting the quest but either way they still caught you. Just a warning.

Ah yes I know about that one, but I'd suspect it had more with the extreme amount of loot to do, then the autoclicker. I'm not even sure if they can detect auto-clicker. Just put the warning up there to be safe.

I think the biggest risk of being reported by using this, would be by other players.

    ('scuse my English)

I've tried to use this method (with an homemade autoclicker) since my toon is 53.
I've tried each level from 53 to 61 and there's some problems :

From the towers, you aggro mobs when they are (very) far from gards so they target you and the go in "evite" mode (i'm not sure that "evite" is the ENG word ).
And, when they targets you, humonoids have a range attack that deal about 800 damages (a 53 toon has about 2000-3000 HP)

Then, because these mobs are 67-69 you often have to cast 10time before succeding tagging one. At this time the mob is died or 10% health.

The second option is to trying to tag mobs from the floor but you often aggro 2-3, don't have the time to tag them and die.

So, I've tried this method about 30min at each level between 53 and 61 and during this time, I only succeed to tag about 2-5mobs per level.

So, from my point of vue, powerlevelling from 53 with this method is a pure lie (unless (perhaps) you can FD, vanish ... to reset your aggro).

It might be a good method, I think, from level 65-66.

Yes, plopplop, I leveled by this method aswell, tried it from the same level as you, and I know what you're talking about. But my guide states that it is directed to people in the levelrange 58+.

It wasn't until I reached lvl 58 that this method started working well for me, and by then your aggro range isn't big enough to aggro the mobs on the ground if you stand where I show.
Even so, 58 might not be the optimal level to start this. I think at around lvl 60-61 I started to hit the mobs on the first or second try almost every time.

So I know what you mean, but I also know, that as soon as you start hitting the mobs, you'll find this method very effective.
Also, another thing to add. If you are low level, you might want to get some hit rating items for this to work.

I've noticed a flaw in this though, when doing it on my mage.
Sometimes he get's aggro even though he shouldn't. I'm using a low lvl wand, and since you only shoot on targets that are already attacked by the guards, you shouldn't pull aggro with the little damage I do to them with that wand.

However, a nice tip if you're doing this as mage or priest or any other class with any kind of shield, would be to just change the macro to:

    /assist [target=focus]
    /cast Ice Barrier
    /cast shoot

Even if you get aggro, the ice barrier should be enough to keep you alive until the mob deaggro's (if you're lvl 62+ at least) and you'll keep rebuffing it whenever the cooldown is off.

I'll add this as a tip on the original post aswell.

It's not like you have to be at the computer to do it, though.

Alright, just a little info update here.

I did this with a 60 warrior of mine. Didnt even have maxed skill with my bow, yet almost every shot hit.
I set the click interval to 500, and left for the tv.

I left the computer for about 15 minutes. And when I came back I had earned little over 70k exp. 280k exp per hour, that is. At level 60, that's 1/4 of a level.
    Not bad for being afk

I'll stop harrassing this thread now. Good luck anyone who tries this

I checked the first thing when I logged on, and yes. Still works.

I'd like to add that I got 6 levels over 2 nights doing this starting at 60. And the first time I had died after about 2 hrs, the second night I ran out of arrows.

Bet you can pull like 8 lvls over 2 nights if everything goes smooth. (or if you have a class with a heal with a cooldown or a shield to add to the macro)
