Guide Packs DO NOT Belong In This Section

It has already been made clear that we do NOT allow guide packs anymore.
They are simply a rep farmers way of getting away with reposting guides that we
already have, to get rep.

Anyone we see posting a guide pack will receive appropriate punishments such
as -reps/infractions/etc.

Don't worry, you don't sound like a noob. That was actually a great question, that I would be happy to answer!

A guide pack would be a folder/RAR file which just contains a bunch of guides, stolen/ripped from other sources/places/threads. Basically, they are compiled into one easy folder/RAR file so that people can get all of their wanted guides in one simple download.

The reason we are not allowing people to upload guide packs anymore is because people were simply taking other people's purchased or created guides, compiling them into one folder/RAR, and claiming it as their own. It is just a poor method for rep farming.

Hold on... I assume this is due to the recent Guides, now this is a Public Forum... isn't it my choice what I want to stick up on it?? If the forum is Facist or a Nanny State please say... cause from what you wrote this is exactly what it states... just more subtle.

If you guys are saying, no more sharing because we simply want you to pay for access to that stuff great... close the whole forum and make it pay to access only.

For anyone tired of the bullshit find another forum/site that does the same thing but... for free and without any crap.

The only reason I put the WoW Millionaire guide up was because I got hold of it and a lot of that Info was done before, be it from Prima game guides or other sources. Copy and Pasting shit in a PDF ain't work... just because you stick your name on it and and add custom photos then claim it's the next best thing. I also wanted to know what would happen and if it would be removed without trace... which it did

If this is the case I will create my very own guides, information from all over the place... why not... no one says I cannot use that information and write my own book. So if I do that and it is my own work... why would I not be allowed to post it??? It is free public information, it is based on a game I Pay and things I can simply get from word of mouth or from my own experience.




I am that kind of a guy that will always question Authority when it is forced, after all we live in a moder world, that's the whole principle of democracy right?
My question would be... so who gives a shit if people milk +REP??? whats that to do with you? If others give them +REP for it, be it a repost for which they can't be bothered to search... who care... if someone gives you the +REP... who are you to decide why or if I deserved it? Just because you are the Admin... doesn't give you the power to decide who does what, you gave up that choice when you made a public forum, your jobs is exactly what it says, Administration, that means making sure the forum works and no illegal or indecent stuff (depends if the forum is for 18+) is put up... this means child porn, terrorism and so on.


The bottom line is that I want a decent answer... why do you care who gets +REP and why, or if someone posts a repost, because the only answer you can give is this:

"We own the site (which you don't since it is not actually yours it is your providers and it can go down at any time they feel like) and we just want your money so we are regulating and controlling the free information since we are an intermediate between you the users talking to each other, so we are simply charging an escrow fee for any information you put up, you get no money from it as we take all since we are greedy and couldn't give a rat's ass"

Since you are clearly running a business here I would like your TAX codes and Registered Company names so I can contact the IRS and see if you guys actually pay any tax for the profits you make based on these "forced donations".

So, the website is registered in the with Goddady, your servers are with Invision in the US and your designer is from Malaysia? So the IRS would probably want to know exactly if this is a business scheme and if you are making any profits which you are not declaring right??

Too true, the last time I was here there were GP's littering the guide section, and you could get Brian Kopp's and Joana's updated guides the day they came out, and they were bundled, too! I once downloaded a guidepack that had 27 guides, all of which I found useful...

such a shame, another site just giving up on the entire point of a 'hacker/modder' community. Isn't the entire point of a site that offers links to compilations of privately owned game servers to defy the demand of Blizzard to pay for their game, that they can play it on an isolated, away-from-Blizzard server for free? Evidently not, but all things go to hell when people get greedy. I suppose it's time that the people that found this site useful for pretty much owning the paying for free information part that surrounds WoW must move on to another site that will eventually fall...
