AoE Gold Farming Spot in Icecrown

Hey all.

This involves the quest Destroying the Altars. If you've already done this quest then you are out of luck because the mobs phase out when you turn in the quest.




Basically this area is full of undead, and they only have 3,780 hitpoints each! They don't have any loot, but they always drop coin, and they repop after a minute. Only thing you have to watch out for is Master Summoner Zarod, who's a typical level 80 caster.



I did a forum search and all I found regarding this quest was that you could destroy the altars while mounted and stealthed. If this was already posted, my apologies.

About how much "coin" do they drop per person, and is it worth it?

anywhere from 18 silver to 39 silver. i was making 5 gold per 2 mins or so + trash vendord its a nice spot =]

So lets say you gathered about 10, killed them in oh say 1 minute, each dropping approx 23s. That's 2g 30s every minute.
Or you could just say ~150g per hour. Which is not GREAT, but yeah.

Sorry, I didn't really bother crunching the numbers.

Mobs drop anywhere from 6 to 38 silver. An average of 22.

I just pulled 20 of these guys, gathering and dropping them under 15 seconds as a shadow priest.

22 x 20 = 440, or 4 gold 40 silver.

Maybe not an amazing money spot, but it sure beats the quest reward's cash.

Also, I wonder how good of a spot this is for grinding level 77 - 80? I'm assuming they give experience..

this is a repost ..also use to be able to do an exploit here and summon 100 guys to help u farm this spot..search it before u post it

The cash doesn't seem that great, but I guess if you've done all your dailies, and you have this open to you, its not too bad.
