Sell items the easy way

Someone tried to do this to me the other day and i thought it was a brilliant idea:

What you need is two of the same item, preferably a rare or epic item. Once you have obtained two, send one of them to a low level alt and make them put it up in the auction house for a very high price (example: Have 2 beasts deck, send one to an alt and make him price it for 500g). Then, on your main, type in trade "WTS ______" (the _____ being the item you're selling), when someone asks you for the price, simply say "100g lower than what ever is in the auction house." I tried it and it worked out!

the only part i dont get is how to make them put it in AH
cause u cant just tell them to, right?

I might try this. I'm also thinking, If you only have one item of some kind, perhaps send it to an alt and post it in the AH. Then use this trick, and when they say they want to buy it. Say since you are about to log you will COD it to them for whatever set amount. Then simply log, go on alt. take it out of AH, send to main. and then cod it to them.

Only problem this might bring up is the long time it can take to send items from character to character.
