Aestysu, nice UI. Minimalism. I like it.

Here's mine, which is quite the opposite.

And this one is what my 5 man interface looks like:

    To be honest with you...

This is not really considered a raiding UI, maybe it might be, but it is pretty amateur.
You should have a LOT more addons, and different type of setup.

EDIT: I meant the original authors' UI, the one listed above is A++! =)

Because I don't have my screen full of shit addons that aren't used for nothing more than vanity? Right...The addons I listed are a pretty solid raiding UI. If you can get that far, you can use your own imagination and find other useful addons.

Nice post, the centered text almost made me have a seizure though.

    Bugger.

Thank you. I switched to Elkano's buff bars after seeing them in the original author's post, and it looks much nicer now. It consolidates all of your buffs and debuffs so it doesn't take up so much screen real estate.

You can do a lot of cool stuff with Pitbull..
I had been using XPerl since 2007 but it hasn't changed (at all?) since back then.
So I decided to switch, and I love it.
Pitbull allows you to put their talent spec right in the party frame. (or wherever you want) Pitbull is ultimately the best because you can customize anything, but this is a double edged sword. Be warned, it takes a long time to set up, and you will have to learn how to use Dogtags.

Cowtip is also another great addon, for replacing the default tooltip, and you can program it to tell you different things about a person you mouse over. I use it to help organize raids.

A must for any raider (or PvE'r) is Omen, of course, to watch your threat compared to the main tanks. Damage meters are nice, there's Recount, which is the most complete one available, and lighter versions such as Skada.

For action bars, the best one out there is Dominos. You can even move where items pop up to roll on for looting so it's out of the way.

For chat mods, there's Chatter or Prat. I like chatter myself, it's light weight and simple. I have to chat windows, one for all the spam stuff, like trade chat and general chat, experience gained, reputation, loot, say, emote, etc. The second window is anything important. Party, Raid, RW, Party, Whispers, System. (achievements, auction sold, etc)

To compare items from loot, you should use EQCompare and Ratingsbuster. It shows you the actual benefit you get from stats, such as crit rating, mana, mana regen, +healing or +spell damage, +attack power, etc.

As you can see, I've packed all the most relevant info into a tiny resolution. It will look much better on something bigger than 1024x768. Also, you can tweak it to make it look nicer. I didn't spend a lot of time making it all symmetrical.

For organizing raids and parties, I use the Holofriends addon. It lets you group your friends by categories, such as Tank, DPS, Heals, etc. And I set a comment for each one as far as how good they are, what spec they are, if they're a main tank I list if they have over 30k health, etc.

Edit: Squirllz, I think he is referring to your lack of the use of 'Grid' or Pitbull Raid frames. If you are using XPerl raid frames, feel free to show a screenshot of what you have yours set up like. You should show the status / health of everyone in the raid. Grid is the best way to do this while only taking up a small bit of your screen, (see below) but I like pitbull because you can customize it however you want.

Grid is great for most people, I don't like how you can only see the first 3 letters of their name though unless you make it huge.

I personally don't use raid frames, but I listed Grid. Raid frames are quite pointless for me, but I did include it in my addon list.

Well being a DPS class I agree with you, it's not too needed.
If you're the main tank or a healer, you have to have them pretty much.
As the main tank, it will color their bar red if they have aggro. So you can use taunt. as a healer, it shows curses, diseases, poisons, and health.
But thanks for the guide, I like it!
