Hey guys, this is a technique that is almost common sense but I've talked to a lot of people and they haven't thought of it.
This is the way that my guild has guaranteed (well...98%) that a guildie will win the fishing contest.
Requirements:
-A 5 man group, all of whom can fish in STV.
-Ventrilo/Teamspeak. (not essential but it does help)
The strategy:
You set up your group so that there are 2 groups of 2 people (NOT the person you are helping to win). One of the groups finds a fishing spot and they both fish there. The other group does the same for another spot. However, these 4 people will NOT be catching any fish. They will just let the timer for fishing run out and cast again.
Now the person who is planning to win moves to the first spot and one of the people that were already there moves to a completely different spot. This means that the person who is actually catching fish can do so in peace.
Once they are done with that spot they move to the second spot (where the other 2 people already are). The person who was left at the spot (that the person who should win just finished with) moves to the person they replaced at that spot. Now at one spot there should be 3 people (including the winner) and another spot should have 2. One of the 3 people goes to a different spot and the cycle continues.
This is as best as I can explain it - if you have trouble understanding just let me know and I will try to make it clearer
The basic premiss of this guide is that nobody will fish in a spot that 2 other people are at (well most people wont). So if there is a couple of spots that are being 'guarded' by two people you can have someone safely go from spot to spot until they win.
Lemme know what you think.
A few little tricks to make this harder for everyone else.
-If someone you don't want starts fishing where you are, get on a mammoth mount and stand on the fishing spot
-If you don't have a mammoth mount and someone comes to fish near you..start roleplaying by yourself. This has scared a few people off for me ^^
