It's about saving time with traveling to Azeroth from your outland, and northrend, just to make a few auctions..
I've used a banking alt, since i hit Outland, at level 58, and i only went to azeroth for training (:
And besides that, you get more space, especially if you have 6 guild bank tabs (:

Surprised you didn't mention the best attire for a female banker: the Lovely Black Dress (Lovely Black Dress - Thottbot: World of Warcraft).

Best part about this is it doesn't bind, AND it's rare, so after you're tired of it, you can auction it for a pretty decent scrape of gold.

I got lucky and a guildie got two of them for VDay a few years back, and my jaw about hit the floor. Turns out he didn't know what he had and had just banked them cause he thought someone might want one someday. He just gave it to me for nothing and my banker's been wearing it ever since.

Or for those of a seasonal mindset, donning one of these is cute in the wintertime: Item Set: Winter Garb - Thottbot: World of Warcraft

Accessories are the main reason most bankers fail. I'd never spend over 1G to make my banker look good. I prefer using the starter clothes to keep that mystery there. I don't want to spend money when I plan on making it. It's funny how much people spend on pointless accessories. Thanks for posting the guide, but I know I won't use it. :3
