    Rogues guide to Underbog

Now, as you might know, Underbog is a fairly easy instance in Zangarmarsh.
However, there's one good thing here. This place has chests, chests usually unguarded. That's right, you rogues have the fine chance on getting some gold (without using that wallhack mentioned here).
"Legal" easy money, well how do you get it then?

First up you enter the instance. Here make whatever preparation you want. Stripping of the clothes in case of and put on stealth benefitting gear (I used Black Pearl Panther and Nightscape Boots). However, since I'm I Nelf I gain one more stealth level thingey but I DO NOT have Master of Deception. So results may vary.
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ofUnderbog.jpg

In the first hallway it's just walk right past the mobs until you come to the first boss, but note that the ramp up is tricky because of the mobs' movements.

The first boss, nothing special here really except that he stinks.
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/Yousmell.jpg

However, next to the boss in a bridge over to the other side. Move on like always.

Here! A chest might be there, right next to the Bog Lord. It's easy to aquire, just go there, stand as far as away you can from the chest but still able to loot it and then make sure the Lord isn't too near.
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...tertheboss.jpg

Now, if the chest wasn't there (I think it's quite rare to be there actually) you can move on the hardest part for chest hunting.

There's Naga on the bridge here, nothing to worry about really. But behind me there's two other evil Naga who are probably drank too much Cats-Eye. Anyway, the thing here is to make sure that naga patrol inside the room isn't near. Now, do a /pray and start Sprint to run inside. But if you are a little smart, Distract the guards so they look to the right and then go the left. There's a window to the room. Try to hover the mouse over to the place where the chest is and check if it's there.
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ndzebridge.jpg
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...eyeaddicts.jpg

Inside here, VANISH, but only if YOU ARE NOT NEAR THE CATS-EYE ADDICTIVE NAGA. Avoid the others as you vanish as well, because they don't like when rogues step on their feet.
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...steveryone.jpg

Further inside there's the stairs up but right next to it a patrol mob and hopefully a chest. Once in there it's quite easy to get it, just Distract the mob patrol and hope they don't see you when you pass by and loot the chest.
    http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...tusuallyis.jpg

Good job, now you can get to the two of the chests in here. Do a happy-dance if you want. The third place for the chest, if you are unlucky, is not really obtainable unless you can solo packs of Rays and Stingers.
    Good luck and have fun.

A movie will not come, I'm too lazy for it.

And on another note: At my five recent runs, I found a Noble Topaz, Braxxis Staff of Slumber within just 3 chests (Two must have been at the Rays). Happy hunting!

    Re: Rogues guide to Underbog

This post is more or less good, but there is more to it and there is a greater potential for wealth maximization here. I am currently level 67, but I have been farming Underbog since I was 65. I currently have 5/5 MOD, the lesser panther trinket and Nightscape boots. I very rarely get spotted by anything in this instance, but it happens from time to time.

    What can I get here?

    * Chests. Yes, there is a possibility to get two chests for every run. First, there is always a chest BEFORE the the naga guards who have sentry (the ability to see stealthed characters) and there is a always a chest after the naga guards. The chest before the naga guards can spawn in 4 possible places. Only one of these places is not attainable by a rogue solo. I am not going to take to time to make a map of this, but after a few trips in there you will see what I'm talking about. From my experience (I've done this about 100 times so far), I see that chest placement is completely random. Sometimes you will never be able to get it because it is always placed in the unreachable spot, and sometimes you will always be able to get it. It's a crap shoot. Every chest has 5g and some change, AT LEAST a green item of around level 64, and a good chance to have green gems. I have picked up 4 or 5 blue BOEs as well. I don't usually take the time to go beyong the naga guards to pick up the next chest, but the second chest also spawns in 4 possible spots. This second chest is obtainable by soloing 1/2 of the time, as two of the spots are impossible to get to without fighting.

Chests though are not the major element of wealth accumulation here.

Ore: If you are a blacksmith there is always a minimum of two Adamantite Veins in every Underbog instance. ABout 30% of the time it is a Rich Adamantite Vein. In my opinion this is the real value of Underbog. If you happen to be a miner every single spot that the Adamantite spawns (and there are about 6 locations) is accessible for a solo rogue. However, you must very carefully time your digs and have impeccible placement in relation to where the mobs are standing. Each regular vein has between 2-4 Adamantite Ore, usually some Mote of Earth, and some green level gems. Possibly some blue level gems too. Each rich vein has between 5-7 Adamantite Ore with the same variety of mote of earth and gems.

Herbs: If you are a herbalist, there are a ton of herbs throughout Underbog that are very easy to get. They are all over the place. Easy sauce.

Sanguine Hibiscus: In my opinion this is the other wealth item in this instance. Every Underbog instance has about 15-20 Sanguine Hibiscus lying around in various locations. Nearly all of them are obtainable by a solo rogue with careful placement and watching for patrols. This can be used to gather Sporregar rep. For every 5 Hibiscus you get 750 Sporregar rep. These are not BOP and can be sold in groups of 5 on the AH or through the trade channel.

    Other bits of wisdom:

If you happen to get spotted in this instance it is fairly easy to get away using vanish, but if your vanish if up, you can sprint and jump in the water. About 1/2 of the time this will save you, as none of the mobs will follow you in the water. However, there are a bunch of fish in the water and they can all see stealth. So if you jump in near a fish you are dead. So watch where you jump. After you spend about 30 seconds in the water, the mobs will reset and you will be able to leave combat and restealth.

Ok, this was my first post. I hope it is some help. I guarantee that this open and easy goldmine will not last forever, so get it while its still available. Eventually I'm sure Blizzard will add more guards who can see stealth and replace chests and ore spots. This is just too easy and too lucrative.

Ah, a perfect addition, Hornswoggle. ^^

I have none of the proffesions there, though, so I never really thought about it. Thumbs up to you anyway.

    Re: Rogues guide to Underbog

Ah, I can solve that problem. Do not try to sprint and run through them and revanish. I get past them 100% of the time and here's how:

Throw a distract to make them look to the right, sneak to the left area. You will see a dip in the window that leads to the next area. Try over and over again to jump and then jump again onto this dip. You can completely bypass those nagas. Works like a charm.

    Hope that helped.

Well, it is kinda hard to get screenies over them all. I mean, it's not like you choose where they spawn. I'll go and test the place some other time though, I need my second 70. <.<

    Re: Rogues guide to Underbog

Although not an unheard of method your explanations are great, +rep for you

Also I feel I should mention, there is a 'crack' in the window which you can walljump through to avoid aggroing any mobs, I've run this 4 times without running into any problems or needs to vanish/sprint. Very easy to do with just distract

    Re: Rogues guide to Underbog

I can find ONLY 3 diff places of the chest before the 2 NAGA with cat eye. The first is, near entrance, first i make a right, then left, then left again, at the dead end; the second is behind the stairs that goes up to the first boss, down in the right corner; the 3rd is behind that boss u mention also, (where u have a picture of it above), the 4th i cannot find.. AND after the naga with cat eyes, i can only find the chest right next to the stairs that goes up from the hallway, also what u mentioned above. Plz, if u have time, mention shortly the location of the other 3 after naga, and the last one before naga..

Is it just me, or has Blizz made the chests only in the non-obtainable areas?

    Re: Rogues guide to Underbog

It is not just you. Blizzard has made the first chest unobtainable solo. However, the second chest is still obtainable about 75% of the time from my recent experience.

Also, I have recently been getting the second chest on Heroic mode. It is always either a Solid Adamantite Chest or a Bound Adamantite Chest. I've had some good loot in these. About 5% of the time you seem to get a blue. I have yet to see a purple from these chests. But, the Solid and Bound Adamantite Chests are as good as it gets in WoW. About 6-7g per chest, some crap scrolls, always a Level 70 green or a Level 69-70 blue. Very often gems of varying quality.

However, getting to the second chest on Heroic takes patience and skill (well, if not skill, at least good placement) because it is harder to sneak by the sentry guards and jump through that crack in the window. However, with the proper use of distract, it can be done with 100% success. I died about 6-7 times before I figured out where to stand, when to move, and where to distract.

    Good luck

    - H

By the way, I was told by a GM as I was robbing chests in another (as far as I know undiscovered) spot in another endgame 70 instance, that I seemed to have a penchant for "raping the system." Best compliment I've had in a while.

    Re: Rogues guide to Underbog

I'm having a problem getting the walljump through the window down. I can get on the crack in the window but I can't get over it. Any tips? So far I have to sprint by the sentrys and vanish to get the chest. Nice guide.
