I'm testing this just for fun. I have purchased several items (not the hammer just incase word gets out) of similar concequence. I've been walking around with my bank all weekend watching the general and trade channel for players who are obviously amatures (Ex. Where is the blacksmith) or just plain stupid (Ex. OMG I juzt fownd this itam and sold in in AH for like 6002385g>!>111 I LAWLED!!!!). I'm also judging them by their level and equipment.

I send them an appropriatly priced item (for the amount of cash I think they would have to spare of course) with a message like "Hey man, thanks for helping me with that quest!" or "Hey thanks for showing me where [whatever] was! Take this as my appreciation".

I sent out about 20-30 of these, let's see if there are any takers... (most likely, not)

GM's "do not regulate player trade" (someone posted a screenshot about this not to long ago), and as I'm not trying to act like I'm the Argent Dawn or the auction house or anything I highly doubt anything but a verbal warning would amount.

On topic, I think it would work on a select few imbeciles, but at the risk of being banned because someone spammed that you cursed in orgrimmar or something to get you temp banned (has happened to me) I dunno, I'd rather farm for the money, but that's just me.

What's frustrating is the lack of exploits we have to work with in WoW. Whether we like to admit it or not, Blizz has done a good job of making sure we can't cheat, or if we do, the consequences are greater than the rewards....
